I recently contracted with AAA, Inc to pick-up my MGTD in Greenville, SC and deliver it to me in Akron, Ohio. I was told that AAA, Inc would do the job for $648 door to door. Even though I had similar offers for $500, I went with AAA, Inc because the were "federally licensed". Well, I was also told that if I rushed half the payment to them, I would be able to schedule my pick up either the 3rd or 4th of June. They would call 24 hours in advance to give me time to get everything ready. I was told their drivers were the best, their trucks reliable, and I was not to worry.
I sent the money, and guess what? They DON'T HAVE ANY TRUCKS!!!! They broker (ie, farm it out to a low bidder). They DON'T HAVE ANY DRIVERS!!! Someone else drivers the trucks. When the car was not picked up on the 3rd or 4th, I called. Hmmm, they can't get in touch with the drivers, the drivers only call in when they want, and they call when they are "in the area". It's up to you to make arrangements to be there when they are. It's now the 6th of June, no word on what is going on, and no one at AAA, Inc wants to talk about it now.
I filed a complaint with the BBB in Las Vegas, and then found out they have already received multiple complaints about this company. So, if you want to ship your car, call ANYONE BUT AAA, Inc. Jeff at apopj@aol.com

I feel for you and hope it all works out.
I am a car builder for personal pleasure and also for customers, and a lot of my normal shop operations involve transporting project cars in various stages of construction all the way to show quality finished product.
I am sorry to say that any type of bonding, licensing, and all the things that in modern society are considered to be signs of reliability and honesty are worth no more than a teenager being licensed to flip big mac patties. As with anything, it is all about honesty, integrity, and personal/business ethics.
I move vehicles all over the United States with a well equipped flat bed, and tag trailer for multi vehicle hauls.
All of this is done with a simple yet ample insurance policy, direct customer contact from start to finish, and a love for what I do, and they cars I am fortunate enough to transport.
I am not plugging for business here, so don't get me wrong, but I have enjoyed many trips across the states with a unique hauler and unique cars.
I have transported with wife and kids along, or alone, never a problem at all.
My transporter is a basic, yet fun set-up. A modernized 1946 Chev 1 1/2 ton, sleeper cab, fully modernized from front to back, and can haul one on the bed, and 2 on a goose neck, or one and parts on a flat bed behind.
All I am saying, is people tend to out trick themselves with the "Name Brand" transporters, and forget there are lot's of mom and pop businesses out there offering the service at close to the same price, but with personalized service, and a business ethic that you won't see from a big organization that only cares about thier gross profits, not the precious and unique cargo they are entrusted with.
OK, off the soapbox now,, haha
