Has anyone ever thought of making a Cadillac Evoq/XLR style
lookalike? I`m sure that many people would like
a replica of this type. I think that the ideal car to use as a base
would have to be the Corvette roadster, as the overall shape and
dimensions of both cars are similar.
The Corvette only needs a new rear clip, front hood and a
new bumper/spoiler made up. The lights and other small parts
can be obtained from any G.M. spares shop. Some chrome
alloy wheels and a custom interior would finish the car off well.
I`m sure it would look good.
I have even heard rumors that some of the first Evoq/XLR prototypes
were rebodied Corvette`s, but I can`t confirm if there is any truth to
these rumors.
Can it be done? Tell me what you think of the idea.

That's not a bad plan. The only thing about using the C5 is the really high cost of the donor vehicle. Of course, the brand new XLR is a hair over $70K, so you could probably get away with using this high-priced donor.

Then again, I'm sure there are guys out there that could adapt the car to the older (read: way less expensive) 1988+ C4 Corvette, even though it looks like the wheelbase is a good 10" shorter...

Just a thought.
