I'm looking to purchase a FINO kit from v8archie. I was wondering if anyone in here has ever built one? If you have would you mind to post some pics and tell some info on how hard/easy it was to build. Does it add to the weight of the Fiero. I'm on a tight budget for a kit and i want an original design, so the FINO was the best looking at an affordable price. I just put $5,000 into a 88 Fiero GT 5-speed 2.8 liter motor, i was only looking to put around 3,000 but got carried away. Also, any info on the wrap around dash from PISA would also be appreciated. Thanks for the help in advance. |

Okay, off the bat, I've never built one of these cars. I've seen one, but I believe that it was one of the European "Candy Apple Cars" ones. I talked with the owner for awhile, and - conceptually - it was right in line with the idea behind the ASPP GT40 replica I was familiar with. From what I remember, all of the panels are removed, with the exception of the roof. The rest of the body parts are fitted, removed, prepped and painted, then permanently installed. In theory, I would imagine that it takes probably about a month of weekends to complete - about the same amount of time as the ASPP GT40. The ONLY thing you'll probably have to do is lower the car a bit; that seems to be the 'norm' with the Fiero rebodies; if you don't use the Eibach or Bell Tech (good luck finding them...) lowering spindles, you'll end up with a car that looks like a 4x4. And just cutting the springs will give you a very harsh ride. Other than that, from memory, the bodywork wasn't that hard to complete, and the finished car did look very cool. Hope that at least gives you a bit of direction. Your pal, Meat.

I've decided, in fear of wasting tons of money on something and messing it up, to just ditch the body kit idea and add on to the original body. I really like the Euro front bumper and side scoops from www.b-bspyder.com thats pictured on their blue convertible. The rest of the money i had saved up for a body kit i'm just gonna put into the engine, a supercharger is possible, since its pretty much the only thing left to do to it. But first, does anyone have any pictures of that front bumper and side scoops.Any idea where i can get a supercharger? Help would be appreciated, thank you.

Ok, i've sold my fiero engine and bought a 2001 Cavalier engine from a wrecked car. i'm buying a supercharger from www.andysautosport.com this weekend. Will the engine fit in the back of my 87 Fiero GT. I have everything from the old engine including the transmission. With te spercarger it puts out 230hp without any other modifications. Will it fit? What will i have to custom make anything and will i have to cut from the chassis. Anyone have any idea?
