Does anyone know of a body kit for the Fiero that looks like a Lotus Elise.....the new design. Or is there one out there that is working on one? Would people be intrested in buying one and how much would someone be willnig to pay for a Lotus Elise look alike for a non-streched Fiero? Would there be any legal problems with building and producing a kit to the public?

I'm not too up on the newest Elise, as I've only seen the last iteration (the 111). But the differences between the Fiero and the new Elise are:

Elise:
Wheelbase 2300mm
Overall length 3785mm
Overall width 1850mm
Overall height 1143mm

Fiero:
Wheelbase 2373mm
Overall length 4082mm
Overall width 1752mm
Overall height 1192mm

They're pretty close. And you can order the front clamshell and rear clamshell from a few different race shops in the U.K. Like http://www.lotusbodyshop.co.uk/panels.asp for instance.

Your pal,
Meat.

Actually that doesn't sound like that bad of an idea. Since they are pretty close dimensions already, you wouldn't have to stretch it. But I think you would have to make the full body with doors front and rear, along with the roof. But that sounds like a great plan. I would probably even consider buying one of these kits.

I have the complete body kits for the Elise S1, Elise S2, and Opel speedster in the US.

If there is enough interest, I will refab and modify so that it can be fitted to a US car, ie, fiero, mr2.

Reply if interested, or to my email at jim@eliseusa.com
Also specify which chassis and generation chassis you'd really like to use.

Jim

Jim,
(obviously) If the price were right, I'd be interested in an Elise or Opel, both are hot. It was the lack of the Elise kit that gave me the idea of building my own. I'd like to see something that fits the Fiero, btw.

Interesting, I am from South Africa and there just are not any fiero cars here....hence I am struggling to build my Lambo project.I purchased the design from Elm Williams. I am very interested in the Lotus Elise as well. Pls keep me posted either here or at lee@phenix.org.za....
I have searched the web and cant find anyone that will sell or give me the chassis design for a lambo....let me know how you get on with the Elise body and chassis....
