hey is it possible to use the nissan 300zx twinturbo in the lambo frame? i figure it would fit you could also use the nissan maxima tranny to mount it side ways it would hold up to the power but anyway my question is could you use it i guess in the fiero body or would i have to go to tube frame to do it??

Ok first, having worked on many 300zx engines, throw the engine away now and save some future headaches. I know that this will open a can of worms, but I'm speaking from experience. Any other Nissan engine and I'd be telling you keep, but don't go with the 300zx, please!!

To answer the question is yes, just about any engine can be used, but just be careful in putting it in a fiero. Too much power and the chassis will flex like a noodle. Around 400hp is about the limit

Hope this helps

Dave114,
I'm curious why you say toss the 300ZX engine but keep any other
Nissan engine? I was told by a Nissan Dealer that the it's the same base 3 liter engine that the Maxima from that era uses.
I also previously owned a 300zx tt and it didn't have any problems from it until after it was put back together from a wreck. From other owners I haven't heard of any specific problems other than the Twin turbos have been hit and miss as far as life expectancy.
Is there a specific problem that you have continously seen from them?

Thanks,
SW

The 300zx VG30DETT loves to blow it's power steering, it burns oil, and if you owned one without blowing it up, then you haven't driven it hard enough. It's one the worst engines the Japanese have put in a late model car. One the other hand, the RB26DETT and SR20DET are awesome. So take your VG30DETT abnd go and swap it for a RB26DETT!!
Sorry but I'm very passionate about this, and I don't want you to have more problems with your car than nessesary!!

Hope this helps
