Hi GuysOk we have a design which we have been working on for some time now. We have completey finished the design of the car and are now ready to make a Plug. So before we do please let us know what you think. The picture of the car can be found at the link below http://www.bhpsports.co.uk/conceptracerBHP_int28.jpg We are using a BMW V8 Engine 6 Speed. So any other advice would be great. If you think of copying the design DONT iam sure we would sue your ass BHP Sports Cars |

Well, it certainly looks swoopy!I'm curious about the engine configuration, are you going with the front engine/rear drive setup? Also, that front glass looks reeeeeeally expensive! Is it going to be custom done, or is there an existing car with that windscreen? And what about rearward visibility? It looks like you went along the same lines as the Ultima (which I've been in). It's not a bad thing, but I couldn't see ANYTHING out the back of the car! If you were going to go along those lines, were you planning on incorporating the MBz or Jaguar rear sensors, so that you can back the car up without fear of running into something? Neat design! Oh...and are you going to offer it as a kit or a car? Your pal, Meat.

That is a badass car. I agree with meat that you can't see out the back though. Will you be hooking up a l.c.d. screen a video camera it it to see out the back?It kind of looks like the new TRV T350 except for the back of the car. Did you use that design and modify it to your specs?

Hi We have a screen that pops up in the dash board which can be used as sat nav, TV, and also rear camera to help the ladies with th parking ;) The engine is going to be mid based. Regarding the front screen its all gonna be custom built. Not to sure if we will offer it as a kit form or maybe a full build. What we were looking for is a Cool fast cars that handles like a F1 Car but the comfort of a bentley, but then we thought stuff it 100% power and ride :) Below is a link to how the doors will open aswell, we wanted to go a bit differant http://www.bhpsports.co.uk/conceptracerBHP_int39.jpg Any more suggestions, iam happy to listen :) BHP Sports Cars |

Okay...how are you going to adapt the BMW 6-speed? Being that I'm also working on a mid-engined (GT40-looking) car, I'm always interested in what others have done or are doing. I know of the Audi, Renault and ZF transaxles, and I'm pretty sure the new Ford GT is going to be set up with a 6-speed transaxle. Early reports on that car say that it's going to use a proprietary RBT 6-speed (RBT carries ZF stuff). If your car is going to be using one of these transaxles, I'm interested in what the ratios are. The Audi 016 seems to be the part used in alot of GT40 replicas out here. If you're hooking up a V8, then you're going to need to check on those ratios! Your pal, Meat.

That is an amazing looking car. And although I do think it needs a wing on the back to make the rear end look right, I'm not certain I like that wing. Any guess on the cost of a kit and what will the donor vehicle be?

This an amazing looking car, but I have 1 thing, the front head lights just don't seem to match the overall theme of the car. They're just not aggressive enough. Something similar to the new Nissan 350Z would look awesome or even the Skyline GTR concept car would be cool and only need minor modification to the design. Just my opinion!!Dave

Where do you think the main market for this car will be? I'd certainly suspect the US is most viable. It looks great but don't forget the rules and regs and product liability are a whole different ball game in North America than in good old Blighty. Of course the chances of some smart arsed lawyer sueing your arse are a lot lower if you sell from over there. I doubt if one donor car is going to do the job, especially if you're designing in England and selling in US where the cars are totally different. I know a damned good chassis and suspension designer in UK who has done alot of small volume sports car work (including CAD body design) if you're interested? GavinR

yeah that would be great to get into contact with them. Please let me have the info asap. We should have the plug made within the next month or so. I will post pictures asap for your comments. We thought about marketing the car in the UK but not a massive market at the moment fo replica's. We were gonna use a BMW M5 V8 6 speed engine, any other ideas maybe? how about a V12? Any input would be great thanks BHP Sports Cars |

The car will be mid engined based. No to sure about a donar car yet, maybe a fresh chassis build. For the engine yet a few more ideas with the chevy V12 engine. We want something nice and light but something that is still gonna be able to give us 600+ hp. Meat i guess u have alot of exp in this, can you come up with any ideas? Thanks Barry BHP Sports Cars |

Which is better for road handeling front, rear or mid mounted engine? I imagin that with a heavy engine in the back the car gets over steered and will tend to spin around when breaking hard. Also in the event of a front end collition isnt it more safe to sit behind the weight of the engine rather than infront?

With mid engine cars the weight is leveled out evenly. If you crash in any cars its not an issue if the engine is front, back, mid your still gonna be in pain. We wanted the mid based engine for the same reason ******* use it, Perfect ride. Perfect handling if done right. I have a small avi video of the car we are building if anyone would like to see it, its basically a short video of the car. Looks stunning so just let me know :)BHP Sports Cars |
