I am having the most difficult time finding a large scale Kit car manufacturer. Maybe my problem is going out on a limb; But I am much more comfortable spending the bigger bucks on a safe and reliable kit company than a lesser-known small company. Any suggestions on an american-based company?

(I haven't exactly decided on what vehicle to build yet- but it's a safe bet that I'll buy from a larger company. It has been my experience that spending the extra dollar never hurts.)

First off, decide what you want. There are alot of companies out there making alot of different kit cars. The size of the company is often completely irrelevant; you could get better service from a smaller company than a larger one...or vice versa. CMC (Classic Motor Carriages) was one of the largest kit car companies out there...and they treated their customers very poorly, hard-sold items, didn't deliver, etc. John's Custom, on the other hand, is a tiny little company doing small batches of Cobra replicas, and I have never heard of a complaint from anyone about their car).

Once you've picked out the type of car you want, then you need to do a little company research. It shouldn't be too hard to do, what with the internet and all.

I'll help you as best I can.

Meat.
