I'm trying to locate "metal" parts missing from an unbuilt CMC Pinto based MGTD kit I bought last year. The parts are the left and right Spring Mount Plates, part numbers #44-0572-00 and #44-0574-00. These mount the quarter elliptical rear leaf springs to the rear end housing and also serve as the lower shock mount.

If anyone has these parts or a good drawing with dimensions (not assembly manual drawings), please contact me: pinkmg@comcast.net

Geez! I though at least one person would respond to this thread! I think I may have matters solved by fabricating my own Spring Mount Plates from some 3/8" and 1/4" thick steel flat stock. Now I need to fabricate a center mounted, mono-upper control arm and the lower shock mounts.
Does anyone who even owns a CMC/FiberFab Pinto based MGTD read this website?

I just bought one. If you need some pictures or measurements drop me an email. I could use a copy of the assembly instructions if you have them.

mail to Daveandlindab@comcast.net

CMC is now streetbeasts. Goto www.streatbeasts.com to get the phone number. Maybe, and I do mean maybe they will help you out. You will probably have to have a machine shop fabricate the part for you. CMC, Fiberfab, Innovative Street Machines, and Streatbeasts are all the same south Florida fast talking slicksters. They are quite infamous for backordering or just plain not shipping parts to their customers.

That particular kit, the gazelle, was one of the most incomplete and hardest to assemble kits that CMC ever produced.

I would contact Curt Scott at kitcar.com or ask Meat who posts on this site if they can give you the contact information for a good builder you has put together some of these kits in the past. That builder may be able to give you the specs you need, or may be able to fabricate the part and ship it to you.

Hope this helps

Thanks guys. As I posted previously, I ended up fabricating the mounts myself from 3/8" and 1/4" flat stock. The empty 8" Ford rear housing is now attached to new quarter elliptical leaf springs I got from Eaton Detroit Spring and the whole thing is 'dummied' into the frame. I am now brainstorming the center link and will fabricate an adjustable link and adjustable mounts for it too.

As far as Streetbeasts goes, my opinion is they are useless. I called them at least 10 times in a week on this problem and they never returned even one call. I've called them several times in the past and they were useless then too. I also tried MG Magic in Ft. Lauderdale and York Sports Cars in VA. Both tried to help but came up empty.

Most of the larger rod shops (Speedway Motors) and Stock car suppliers (Stock Car Products) sell a myriad of tabs, mounts, rods or anyhting else you need to fabricate chassis or suspension components.

I appreciate your help...I took my action after no one answered this post for 2 months.
