Great site, just found it! I have a couple of early SHOs with good running gear,220hp V6 (Yamaha heads & intake, beautiful!), 5spd, FWD, bodies so-so. I'm interested in a kit that could use this gear, but have spotted absolutely nothing to help. Can anyone point me in the right direction to try to find such info? Ford Contour-type maybe? Anyone heard of such a FWD project? I really appreciate any comments and suggestions!FordHead FordHead

Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be too much that is set up for the SHO - which is unfortunate because that's a really great engine; it was ahead of it's time.Don't limit yourself to just kits that require FWD. I've seen SHO motors in Cobras, a GT40, and I'm sure that it can be adapted to alot of different applications. I'm not as well versed in SHO as I should be, but there is a way to adapt an (I believe) Aerostar bellhousing, and I'm pretty sure that Kennedy Engineering (http://www.kennedyeng.com/) has an adapter that will allow you to made that engine to a T5 tranny - which expands your kit options quite a bit! Hope that helps...at least it's a start! Your pal, Meat.

Man, that's a BIG help! I'll scope out that site & see what the possibilities might be, I really had never considered the prospect of anything but FWD. Those engines really were (are!) sweethearts, both are in excess of 120k and they still cook. Some type of nice body, a tube frame and that light engine......now that could be a unique rig! Thanks for your help, I do really appreciate it. Fordhead FordHead |
