Hi all and Happy Holidays. I'm new here and because Santa got me a 1988 Perlude SI FWS ....Guess he felt sorry for me cause the gas bill on my jeep was killing me .....6 MPG .SHEEEESH!. Anywho The prelude is a good car has headers and a cold air intake , new tranny and top end on the DOVC was rebuilt , new tires & batt...everything works and it hauls A$$ for a 4 banger . I have long been a fan of kitcars and especaly fond of the manta montague. Produced by Warp 5 Now/ the other body of interist Is the Sterling. Can the honda surve as a usefull base from which to build ?

I would have responded sooner, but I was looking through EVERYTHING I have for something - anything! - to help you out. Unfortunately, I can't find a thing. I do like the Prelude, and I'm assuming that you've got the four-wheel steering option (from the "FWS" in your description). That's a very cool car; an innovative system that was a decade ahead of it's time (the Denali and several other GM vehicles (including the H2, supposedly) now have that as an option).

Now, on the other hand, if you wanted a kit for your Jeep...

Your pal,
Meat.

BTW, the last car I looked at (it uses a Honda Accord, I think...I can't tell for sure) was the Euroworks Attack. After reading the FAQ, I can't recommend this car; it's obvious that the person who designed this really pretty car has no idea what they're talking about. I'd stay away from that - even with the special $3K discount price - until the car really exists and the questions are answered properly.

Your pal,
Meat.

MEAT . Thank you for the effort. Yes that is 4 wheel steering, very stable at speed cornering. Hardly any body roll, and a rocket out of the hole. That feel is what reminded me of a can-am type car and caused me to seek a body to match the responsiveness. I,ve found some ( but very few) Body make over kits for an 88 , to enhance the profile some. Nose, tail and side rockers molded from poly u. Proberly the way I'll go....And the least expensive. I'll build a kit when I have all the parts, VW body pan, ECT ECT.....
Anything spent on that 90 jeep grand wagon would be "out the window". cause I am banning it from HWY use. But I'm keeping it to prowl around the woods and Bounce off trees and rocks... that sorta thing. Thanks Again!

Sorry I couldn't be of more help.

On an up note, you don't have to build a kit out of a VW! There are all kinds of kits out there!

Now here is a thought I had using a kit car Say a Montague All aircraft alum frame and electric motor. The lynch Motor will sustain 60+ mph for around 2 hours on 48 volts when used on to a regular ""honda"" size / constructed car Could go faster with more batts but the run time would remain about the same. Proderly could extend that a good deal with a lite aerodynamic body ""Kit Body" and a lite tube frame. Add regenerating speed controlers and a tranny for some extra miles. Certainly not a speed deamon But it sure would be nice to wave at all the people at the pumps.... and Look good doing it. Heating and AC would be factors to over come . A ducted cooler surounding a plenum with Ice / dry ice with vents ducting inside for cooling. But Heat would be another matter as not to tax the batts to much....Maybe a small gas powered generator in the trunk to run an electric heater and replenish the runnung batts at the same time in winter ....? who knows, but it sure would be fun to try.
