I own a Bugatti kit car and the cockpit trim that covers the raw edges of the fiberglass is an ugly black color and just doesn't look good. Does anyone know of a source of something different to cover these edges that would look classy or a suggestion of a different method or material to hide these edges? Thanks in advance for your help.

A marine supply store would probably be a great choice to start. They have a bunch of different fabrics and ways to dress up boats, and alot of Cobra fellas use part from there.

You have one of the old Bugatti racer replicas, right?

Meat.

Thanx for you response, Meat. The car is a 1927 Model 35 with an open cockpit and the present edging is a flexible plastic covered steel that just pushes over the raw edges of the fiberglass to cover the entire exposed edges. Think a marine supply store has a substitute?

TRY THE TRIM-LOCOMPANY IN CALIFORNIA,THEY MAKE SOME DIFFERANT EDGE MOULDINGS FOR THE ROUGH EDGES OF FIBERGLASS, OR TRY BARBOUR PLASTICS
IN BROCKTON MASS,THEY MAKE ALL KINDS OF EDGE MOULDINGS FOR TRIMMING THE EDGES IF FIBERGLASS ON BOATS,AND MAKE THEM IN ABOUT FIFTY COLORS.

What a great car! There used to be a company called Ironsmith out there that did replicas, but they sort of faded away. I've seen the rear (VW) engined ones and the front engined ones. I like them both!

Yes, a marine supply store will have what you need. Good luck with the car! Post some pictures!

Your pal,
Meat.

Hey guys much thanx for your help I really appreciate it. And, Meat, I would love to post a picture of my Bugatti Racer But I don't own a digital camera (I think one is needed) and I am not really that computer savy. Sorry.
