I am an engineering studnet in high school. For our engineering class we have to come up with a new product. My product is a car security system to protect you from hit and run accidents both in parking lots as well as while driving. It will have a sensor that would turn on cameras to capture the image of the person (car) that hit you. It would not detract from the appearnce of your car. I was wondering what other people think about this idea.

I have already thought about this for a security system in my car.

The problem that I see with this is that a single camera cannot capture allthe angles. So, you will either need multiple cameras or a special curved lens that caputures a 360° image, and then is processed to form one bigpanoramic view. I've seen this lense before but I forgot where...

Now if you can design this and it will *not* detract from the appearance of the car, then you're doing well. IMO the cost of having multiple cameras, all the electronics, and sensors will be in the 'luxury' range.

Other than that, it's a good idea.
