I am interested in building a plug for a Diablo VT Roadster. I wonder if you can direct me. I've never done a kit let alone molded my own but I am very mechanically adept and wonder if you know where I can find info on this.

I don't have much experience with making molds, but you can check out an article I put together on the various methods. It under the "body mold" section of my site (see my sig). The "fiberglass" section has some links to a few good tutorials.

An excellent example of a DIY lambo is one made by Brian Wolff. You can check out his project under the "Projects" section of this site. He bought an AutoCAD Diablo model and sliced it up on the computer. He then transferred these profiles to paper and made "ribs" (like an airplane wing). Personally, I think he did a really good job. At one time he was selling the plugs for fairly cheap, perhaps he might still have them? IN anycase, he's a nice guy and I'm sure that he would be willing to answer specific questions once you get to that point.

You might also consider buying a auto body fiberglass book. I'm not quite that far yet, but I hear that "Fiberglass Auto Body Construction Simplified" by Wills is good.

Good luck!
