I've been building kit cars for over 30 years (almost all VW Beetle based) now and just wondered if anybody is making quality 130 millimeter/4 lug mags in some decent widths (7 to 9 inch)??? It always seems like most of the aftermarket rims are just not as "lug centric" as they should be. Has anybody had any experience with having their rotors re-drilled for a popular Chevy pattern? This would seem to open up the market for a wider line of quality wheels (Centerline, Weld, American Racing, etc.) at decent prices. It seems to me that the addtional 5th lug would also help to locate the wheel better on the rotor. If anybody has any ideas about this I'd sure like to hear them. It may not sound like a big deal on most VW based kits but I'm running over 300 horsepower in a lightweight car. Quality wheels are a big deal when you stomp the accelerator!
