Hi! Just signed up because I have just inherited a kit car. My father bought it well over a decade ago - it's a Gazelle I think - and he worked on it for a little while. Then it sat. And sat. And sat.

Now, he has passed on and I have inherited this kit car!

I need to get rid of it. But honestly, it's in bits and pieces. There are parts everywhere, and I couldn't tell anyone if it's complete or not. I don't think the VW car underneath works anymore. It certainly hasn't been started in years.

My question is this - is there a market for something like this? Honestly, I just want it out of the garage and basement so I can sell the house, so price isn't the issue. I would be happy to let it go for cheap or even for free if someone is willing to tow/collect it. I am sure there are enough parts that make it worthwhile for someone.

Is that something that kitcar enthusiasts do? Or do they only want pristine cars?

Thoughts?

Rick

That's a shame. Unfortunately Gazelle's are a dime a dozen. You might want to try to market it on Craigslist for cheap, or even dump it on eBay for a very low BIN. Cars in pieces rarely command high prices, and being relatively common doesn't make it any more appealing. If you have the time, see if you can't finish it to the point where it's at least a roller...you might find more potential buyers.

It is sitting in New York City (Queens).

If anyone is interested, I am going to get photos of the bits this weekend. I can also be contacted at carroll.palmer at gmail dot com - since obviously I don't check this site as often as I should!
