There a a whole bunch of Cobra replicas out there. What you need to do before you buy one is decide what you plan on doing with the car. Are you going to race it, cruise in it, enter it in car shows, etc. Are you planning on using the car as a daily driver, a weekend warrior, or something else?

DO NOT - I repeat DO NOT - buy an FFR based solely on price; there are a TON of Cobra replicas out there that are all going to end up (price-wise) about the same. The major difference you're going to find is an intangible called "sweat equity." With the FFR, there's a mountain of it; the body needs lots of massaging. The aluminum panels - as pretty as they are - take up alot of time to assemble, and the list goes on. Many companies have manufactured many Cobra replicas - there are tens of thousands of them on the road. Of all of the Cobra replicas, only ONE REQUIRED an entire list dedicated to support: the FFR. No other Cobra replica has had to have as much help, or had so many pages dedicated to builders trying to help each other out to get the cars on the road. And - believe it or not - the FFR is not exactly a single donor Cobra replica.

That's not to say that the FFR is a bad Cobra replica in any way. But don't be dazzled by the number of FFR owners out there. Don't be dazzled by the glowing "you'll forget about it when you drive it" reports. FFR has had body issues, safety issues, backorder issues, tech support issues, and the list goes on. Curt Scott wrote an EXCELLENT article about the old FFR. FFR changed a number of things on their car based on his article.

I myself am working on an FFR. I'm neither happy nor sad about my choice.

Also, if you want to know more about Cobras, you really need to NOT go to FFCobra. That site gets edited for any comment that is negative to the FFR. If anyone recommends that you go to that site, take any further information they give you with a grain of salt. A HUGE grain of salt. Run screaming away from them.
