i am very interested in buying a kit for me and my husband. but i am confused on where i have to go to view the particular kit that i want and how to order it. we would like an unassembled kit so we can work on it together. thank you!!!

Yeah, you kinda have to narrow it down to what style, budget and how mechanical you both are before jumping in with both feet. Depending where you are, there are kit car shows on both coasts every year. Great chance to see all the new toys on the market.
