Since the other Gullwing post is so long I thought that I would start this one as a new post. I worked on the kit this weekend. Perhaps the first time in 3 months. I had come to the conclusion that the motor mounts needed to be moved so I pulled the motor out to do this. While it was out I thought I would use the opportunity to check the fit of the hemi that I will at some point build for it. The motor fits okay. However the steering will be a real challenge. This Offenhauser manifold pictured is for 3 X 2 Stromberg carbs and it doesn't really have enough hood clearance. Neither did the stock intake with carb. I have 4 Weber downdraft carbs with velocity stacks that I test fitted and they should work real nice. I took photos but they are on the next roll of film.

Sorry to bug you, but I'm very interested in the idea of a turn-key gullwing. In my initial research through these forums, you seem like the most knowledgable (and reasonable) poster on the subject. Would you have any recommendation on who I might contact about having one built?

I wonder how your project is going and whether or not you intend to sell your work, or know someone who might be selling a replica Gullwing

I have moved to New Zealand. The Gullwing is in storage. Hopefully in the next few months will have it shipped. So, in theory I should be able to resume where I left off in spring. That being finishing a new dash. Then hopefully time to start the motor (Ford 5.0). Still have some pieces of the windows to cast. So although it has been a long journey hopefully I am in the home stretch.
