You may be in luck. I tried several times to answer you via this website, but finally got through. So, if I am repeating myself, sorry. I have been making "Prototype Replicas" of Corvettes for many years now. Most recently, the "John Silva" productions from the 1970s which "Motion Corvette" bought from him, and Ecklers produced limited versions of. They are based on the 1968 "Mako Shark II" not to be confused with the Mako SHark, based on the 63 Convertible. So, the only question I have for you, is what exactly do you want to build. There are several types. THe "Manta Ray" that I k now of, has a tear drop back end that blends into the deck lid, with a flat back window (similar to the 68-72 take out window) and a pointed rear end with smaller round lights in it. The front end had several different versions, so it all depends on exactly what it is that you are looking to replicate. As I said, I have several molds of the Ecklers version/Silva Mako versions...and if you have a chance, you can read the Articles and see the photos by doing an Archive Search on "Shark Quarterly" that Wayne Elwood used to publish. (no longer in publication, but there are archival files out there to look at) Drop me a line at Vetteguy70@sti.net and make sure you put Manta Ray Replica in the subject line so I won't delete it as SPAM. I look forward to hearing from you. Maybe we can put something together.... BY the way, do you have a Corvette to put the body ON? As with most "kit cars", and prototypes, there is a considerable degree of dedication that is required. If this is a whim, "wish there was a" type of thing, I can't help you. If you want to make this a reality, and are serious, then I can help you. Let me know. SteveSteven M. Kuryla CWO(R), USA Intelligence Regiment |
