Hi,

I have a tritech zetta in Vietnam.
Currently it is running a honda freeway 250 cvt unit.
However it will shortly have a 300cc cvt with mechanical reverse and water cooling- with a correct size rear wheel.

To be honest- the tritech zetta is a pretty poorly designed vehicle.
Alot of design flaws in both the body construction (join from sliding window section base to roof pillars front and rear)also the rear window aperture is completely wrong- not central and as such an original rear window will not fit- so its a plexiglass one. The chassis is even worse! Due to the small rear wheel and wrongly shaped inner arches- they have angled back the shock absorbers and the whole front suspension and steering pivots- by about 40 degrees! so the steering is stupidly heavy and the whole car moves from side to side when you turn the wheel at stanstill. Other items such as inner door latch- are a heath robinson inspired joke.
I think the company lost interest and cobbled them together.
Never had any experience with a schmitt.

The reason i bought it, (i also have a number of original isettas) I plan to offer a decent quality kit- with a decent power unit with reverse gear. I thought this might be a good starting point. Alas not!
I bought it from somebody who had spent $16,000 building it in the UK with the help of tritech. They were so dissapointed in it- they covered less than 200 miles- and put it in the garage- found an original isetta and restored that instead!

We produce quite a few toy vehicles both electric and gas powered-
and while this in itself is a good and enjoyable business- the main reason we are doing thi is to train my staff in order that we can move on to producing real cars, something i have done before in the UK- and my dream to reproduce isettas.
The long term goal is to offer an electric version and ultimately a fuel cell or hybrid version. Exciting times- but i am afraid it is not going to happen over night. I doubt we will be in a position to offer kits or completed cars for at least 18 months.

So no idea as to price, options or anything else for that matter! So please dont ask!!!

Well just reread your listing, and it looks like i have sidetracked a little. I spoke with tritech last year- these days they mainly service cars as they said there is not enough money in the kits- but they can make to order. Keep ringing the number and you may get through. Just dont expect any enthusiasm though!

Incidentally once we are up and running with the isetta replicas- we will turn our attention to a messerschmitt replica. Well at least thats my goal.
Regards from Vietnam

I agree! Very slick "toys"! They are more mini-replicas than true toys, and would love to see a Sterling/Nova made like that! You'd sell a bunch of 'em if the price was right!
