Hey all, I stumbled aross this forum and thought this was a good place to ask some of the MANY questions I have, you all seem to be very helpful. heres my story:
Im currently 19 years old, go to college in South Dakota but live back at home in the summer with my parents in Wisconsin. Back in high school, my parents made a deal with my brother and me that in short, all A's = one car of our choice for our first vehicle. well, to say the least, i fell short. So, ive patiently waited for my first car still. My turn has now came for this summer to take a look around and have my choice. they will pay up to 5,000 of it, so Im really just looking at these:
Fiero with a Bolt on Body
1965-1969 Ford Mustang
3000gt SL (or if I can get the money, a Vr4)
Now, the better part of the story... When I was in high School a paintball field sponsored out team. The guy that owned the field has since then opened an autobody shop that does pretty much anything engine to body wise(The only thing he really doesnt do is paint). This past summer he had bought a old building in our city, so the team helped him everyday for about the whole summer to clean the place up and helped him do everything from run electric wires to patching the roof. Becuase we had helped we not only play for free at the field, but any automotive things I need done will be done at cost.
So im asking all the gueru's out there, which of those cars are best for me to intially start with? I would LOVE the fiero and a 355 coupe body, then as I get money I just keep making the car look more apealing to the eye on the interior. Im not too worried about having the kit that looks 100% EXACTLY like a 355, just one that fits in my price range (1k-3k+-). I really dont care to stretch the fram either, its just more costs, and that I think would set me over my price range. Fieros around here are pretty cheap too.. what can be as low as 500 or 600 bucks... A 60-80k miled V8 isnt hard to come by either... any ideas on what to use for body kits or should I just stick with one of the other two?
