ok ive gone to the local home depot to look for some foam to use when making a plug, i asked some of the workers there and they just looked at me like retards and asked if i was looking for the expanding stuff in the small can? any help would be great also, what is the normal use for the foam? it would probably help alot in my search. thanks guys

Well im not a expert in building molds/plugs but if im not mistaking in one off construction people use urethane foam. Make sure it has no foil on it.

Also look in the yellow pages for fiberglass supplies, or something along them lines and you should find it.

Normal everyday packing foam dose fine , Just drive around all factory areas your bound to come across something .

Look for the blue hard foam called "Stirodur" (made in Germany by BASF) or the "Fibran" (made in Grece). They are the same material just the brand names are different according to the manufacturer. It's used in the exterior building isolations and usualy the foam blocks are 2000x700mm big and 30-45mm thick.
