Hey everyone.

i currently live in Egypt. and wanted to put together a porsche cayman or a carrera 911 from "scratch".

My plan is to buy the body parts through the internet have them shipped to me. finding a compatible chassis and then finding a suitable engine and outting them all together.

now my problem is finding all the needed body parts which i need a list of cause im not sure i have them all down.

i would really appreciate if some one would guide me through the steps as im very confused about where to start.

I would put it together from junk yards in Egypt, Saudi, etc. There just be plenty of parts cars in them for very good prices compared to the US.

To KarKit guy: i dont think you know wut ur talking about. there are customs over imported cars. and since a porsche would be in the range of 3,000 CC. it would cost 140,000 US $. compared to its original price wich is 70,000$.

to Jaysherman: do you know any junk yards in egypt? save me the time to go around hunting.

Well Big G prove us all wrong. People spend more money building kits then what it costs to buy some exotics. Also if you dont have the time to go hunting for parts, where will you find the time to build the car?

Or why not save the Customs fees and buy it from here http://www.porscheegypt.com/

If i buy a porsche from a dealer still id have to pay the same amount of customs. which is nearly double the price. you want to see car prices in egypt. www.contactcars.com

i have the time to hunt but if some one could guide me through it i wouldnt mind saving the time.

quick question: does a VW beetle chassis support a porsche carrera body?

would it be much of a pain to ask you which specific ones are compatible?

There are none currently on the market for a VW . There was one called the Covin and here is a link to more info . I have also seen them on Ebay from time to time. http://covinowners.pwp.blueyonder.co.uk/

Sure, it'll withstand the 3 litre. But the tranny won't, unless you graft the 911 tranny in. That requires an IRS chassis and a lot of custom cutting and welding. But it won't handle anywhere near a real Porsche, if that's what you're after. The extra 250 pounds hanging off the back will dictate that.
Is it possible to bring something in from the UK or Germany without the huge tax? Maybe as a 'collector' or 'historic' car if there are that type of delineations?

You can buy Carrera GT kit.
Build it on the MR2 or Boxster.
