Any Kit-Cars have always intrested me. And now i'm, thinking about doing something, but i have a question, how are they registered?

Ya know like i remember way long ago prople took VW Bug chassis or Chevy Corvairsd and dropped new bodies on them to make all sorts of differenbt things,, but when one goes to get it licenced,, how is it? is it a Bug,, or what? ya know what I mean?

And if you were to go totally radical design but still using an existing chassis from something,, but in no way does it look anything liem it used to how is it again licened>

please drop me a note,
