I was looking at GT40 kit cars and saw a t.v.show that test drove a Superformance GT40. They claim that 90% of the parts that make up the car actually fit the "original" cars that Ford built. The cars are a 100% completed roller, just lacking engine and transaxle (they come standard w/a.c.). It sounds like a cool deal, less of a hassle than building one from an actual "kit" version and no need for a donor car. My question is: has anyone seen any of the Superformance replicars, and if so, is the quailit as good as they claim? The GT40 is a new release and there are only a few units in the US, but the Shelby Cobra and Daytona coupe models have been in production for a while. The closest dealers to me are in New Mexico or Louisiana, I am located about in the middle of the two. I guess if we ever vacation back to Vegas, I can stop in at the one there.Any input will be helpful. Thanks!!!!!!!!! |

Made in the US, very little wait, aluminum chassis, billet CNC suspension, rolling chassis, and you still get to build it. Not sure of the price difference but the RCR may be in range with 3 different kit levels.

Well just because Superformance builds them out of the country (south Africa) I believe doesnt make them bad. There Cobras are top notch from what I have heard and im sure the quality is just as good in the GT40.www.kitcar.ws |

I really enjoy the build and the fact that it is in the US saves quite a bit on shipping, tax etc. That was the point on the US and not on quality. Take a look at the differences including the chassis.
