I am looking for something unique to drive. I am looking at something like the "IMMACULATE LAMBORGHINI COUNTACH! Perfect!" to drive frequently to/from work and such... am I crazy thinking that could use such a vehicle as a daily driver?Walter J. Alexander, IV Alabama, USA |

You know, it's not that you can't use exotic cars (yes, even the kits like these) as daily drivers but do you really want to??? I mean first people will always want to talk abou the car anywhere you go which sounds like a lot of fun but gets old fast after a few days. The next thing is worrying about the car being stolen once some nasty guy has pieced together where you park every day now. Another impractical thing about these exotics is the very reason few real ones are used on a daily basis. They are a pain in the butt to park with their limited rear vision and wide tires. Also, your specialty insurance may be void if you go past mileage limitations or state that you will use it as a daily driver. On the flip side consider using the car like I have been doing with these exotics. When I get home on Fridays out comes the car or truck and I drive it most of the entire weekend. I hit a few car shows, some festivals, or go on a weekend trip. I've also had many vacations over the years where I had to time to talk to the people around me that had questions. Using a car like this makes sense and doesn't pile on the hard commute miles like a daily driver. Every weekend is like a vacation.

I understand your comments Darrel. My situation is a bit unique, in that I work for a school system where I pretty much stay in good areas all the time. I will heed your advice and such about theft and parking though... I may drive it about 1/2 the time. I have another car I am fixing up while driving every day and this will give me a chance to do work on that car that may take it our of commission a few days at a time.I agree with blackknight also... cars were made to be driven. Are mroe comments or thoughts would be appreciated. Walter J. Alexander, IV Alabama, USA |

I have a diablo replica and there is no way I would use it as a daily driver. The visibility is horrible. Fine for cruises but forget about backing up. If you are thinking daily driver, I would suggest looking into the fiero based ******* replica that retain more of the stock fiero characteristics. I could see a 355 spyder replica being a decent daily driver if you have a good top. Scott

Gentlemen, I have been building cars for a long time-I build em to drive-no trailer queens for me,nor does winning a trophy hold any appeal for me. I have several old cars and I do drive them to work-that's why I pay insurance premiums.Ed Salyers |

i dont think you can insure them to be a daily driver. there are strict mileage constrants on kit cars. check your state dmv.

Hello, I'm the one selling the car you are talking about. When I first got the car, I wanted to drive it daily! But my insurance will not let me. Exotic Cars can only be insured for pleasure cars (sometimes mileage is noted, but not with my particular plan), unless you have BIG money! I have friends that drive *******s and Vipers daily and trust me, there is also a 7 car garage at their house. They have the big money I am talknig about. If I wanted to drive it daily, my insurance company may not even insure me! It is not a convenient car by any means. It is a toy. Sometimes I will go home for lunch and drive the Lambo back to work, but not too often. The most I did this was once or twice a month. When I would get home from work and feel the need for a quick adrenaline rush, I would jump in the Lambo and hit my favorite back roads. The cars are PLENTY of fun to have and NOT drive daily. I am 6ft tall and the car LITERALLY comes up to my waist, when I stand beside it. I got a trophy at a car show and it stands taller than the car! You cannot see too well out of the blind spots. THIS IS A BIG NO-NO IN 5:00 TRAFFIC! It's hard getting in and out of the car. You can put too much wear and tear on the car, destroying it after a while if you put tons of miles on it. You allow more oppertunity for an accident in your exotic is you drive it as a daily driver. Less hours on the road = less chance of a wreck. By all means, I am not saying I don't drive my car! I drive it ALOT and I drive it HARD!!!!!! (well, since I am selling it, it has STAYED in the garage undriven for 3 weeks now). Once you own an exotic like a Lamborghini, you would understand about driving it daily. Like mentioned above, a ******* 355 or something along those lines is mopre feesable for daily driving, but good luck finding an insurance company that will allow that! If you are caught in a wreck and you are driving the car to or from work, your insurance may NOT cover the accident. ONLY for pleasure purposes. Frog, I do not own an exotic-I do own several streetrods-and 1 65 Vette-which my insurance company holds a 50,000 policy on-Believe me it is driven-I have no restrictions placed on how much I drive it-but then again I am a 50 year old with a clean driving record. I'm sure different insurance companies have different policies. EdEd Salyers |

Johnnyboy, I have a regular title-insurance company is State Farm. About 25 years ago I chose State Farm because the ones I checked on were not very keen on covering my cars. My current project is a 50 Bulletnose Stude with suicide doors-I will have it appraised then place the appropriate insurance on the car. EdEd Salyers |

hey frog are you the guy from the other kitcar site ? the other guy had a red countach as well. just asking because i have not seen you post there anymore. i also looking for a lambo replica . anyways i wanted to ask you how much you are selling yours for? or is it already sold? another thing is your car looks so good compare to other cheapo kits. so i was wondering why would you depart from such a good looking ride? i know some people like me would never get rid of a car like that. so why?
