Well only a little bit of doom but doom at that-

I've got a 85' v6 notchie fiero that is ready for a 327 with camle-back heads to fit right in there. Here is the deal- i want to make it look like something else- hence why i am here. i plan to make an entire rebody kit- the only thing i will keep is the doors and the glass- (the mechanical stuff the same-except the v8- the intirior the same as well)

I have worked with fiberglass before- but not something so big- is there any tips on making my own kit based entirely ont eh stock fiero? any websites? I have art work to post if i can get a hold of a scanner from a buddy of mine.

Thanx for any of you willing to give me time and help.

PS: i live in Mn about an hour away from st. paul if anyone may want to know that. to let you know my time zone- lambog24 is my aim and my email is my msn.

Well, geez, you've kinda taken on the biggest challenge you can with very little experience - designing and making fiberglass molds to fit an existing car. If it were easy, there would be more kit variants on the market. But seriously, if you want to do something one-off, perhaps the easiest way is to 'skin' the existing car in insulating foam, available in sheets at any home center, then start carving your dream car. Once you get to a close to finish stage with the foam, then you can start laying on the fiberglass. I would suggest looking at R.Q. Riley's site for more information on doing this. Its www.rqriley.com and should give you some direction. Other than that, unless you've got lots of friends who are in the auto body business, be prepared for lots of setbacks and headaches.
Good luck!Go to Top of Page
