OK let me start by saying I am just posting these pics and I dont know the whole story. Seems as though a member of this board purchased this car from Ted and this is what was delivered for 40k. The work looks amateur at best and the builder should be ashamed to put his name or company name on this car. Also to anyone Who says Ted/rarecars is reputable and the owner of this car should contact his other customers needs to take a good look at the photos as the pretty much give a good idea of his skills. I will be posting the Pics as I resize them. Everyone feel free to post your thoughts on this so called mis understanding. www.imagecabin.com/imagehost/pic/1939NIr9o/62168.jpg" border=0>

Wow thats just plain bad, was this one of the cars Ted built or was it something he got in trade for one of his cars. I know that he sells used stuff now and then according to the website and the ebay ads that pop up. Cause thats nowhere near the quality that I have seen from cars claiming to have come from his shop.

Could you post some more photo''s if you have then, also can you confirm that this car on ebay is not the one that you currently have in your hands. Because there are some very unusual similiaritys between the two but I cant get a good idea without some whole car shots and some up interior shots as well. Something is real weird here. http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=4573160397&ru=http%3A%2F%2Fmotors.search.ebay.com%3A80%2F%3Fsofocus%3Dbs%26satitle%3D4573160397%26sacat%3D6000%2526catref%253DC5%26fbd%3D1%26from%3DR6%26nojspr%3Dy%26fscl%3D1%26pfid%3D0%26fswc%3D1%26few%3D%26saprclo%3D%26saprchi%3D%26fss%3D0%26saslop%3D1%26sasl%3D%26fls%3D4%2526floc%253D1%26sargn%3D-1%2526saslc%253D0%26salic%3D1%26saatc%3D1%26sadis%3D500%26fpos%3D33462%26fsct%3D%26sacur%3D0%26sacqyop%3Dge%26sacqy%3D%26ftrt%3D1%26ftrv%3D1%26sabdlo%3D%26sabdhi%3D%26fsop%3D1%2526fsoo%253D1%26fcl%3D3%26frpp%3D50%26fvi%3D1

Well I dont own this car. I posted the pics for a member of this site. If the member feels additional photos of the entire car are needed I will post them. I also noticed he has a ebay auction with the same car pics as in previous ones. Im still at a loss that after a 40k investment that is what the new owner got .
Also Im not sure it is was bought on ebay or not. But the description of all the Murc replicas from rare cars are exactly the same ...new build 20 miles on the car since built... and so on . Not even sure how many "USED" Murc replicas are out there. Cant be many since very few are being built/sold that I can see

Thats whats bothering me as well, the one on ebay will go for 30-33K give or take in my opinion and looks to be put together a better. So 40K is a little weird, unless the car got bounced around alot in shipping or this guy did something weird to the car himself. 88 Mera GTS. (Sold) ~97 Thunderranch Riot (For Sale on Ebay now.) Well I just checked my inbox and I have additiol info about the purchase. I was sent a few emails that went back and forth from New Owner and Ted. I will not paste the emails because I was asked not to but will put them in my own words. TO answer about if it was Ted build. It was he did say that he built it. The First email also mentioned that there were a few minor things that needed to be done, Screws on the back grill, and some masking around the glass. But his auction has no talks of it needed anything . A email was also sent to Ted telling him the dash fell off when the car was unloaded, Had bare hot wires hanging down and the car smoked when it got started. It is a Fire hazard. The interior was glued, and everyting including the windows and doors were starting to fall off as though the superglue didnt dry. Ted replied by saying he wasnt trying to get away with anything and that it probally need about $750 in work to make it right. A refund was asked for and Ted Said he does not have the cash right now cuz the bulk of it went to other builders and his partner. HE said he will resell the vehicle and the buyer can get the money back in 6 weeks. There is a little more but frankly im tired of typing anything further about this SCUMBAG. Here is what bothers me . The Ebay auction is for the same car. But yet again not mention of the problem that are going on with it. Just the same exact description . Im not sure who has possesion of the car now. I guess take what I wrote for what its worth but It seems very clear to me that this guy is a HACK . also its hard tell that the pictures of the car in the current auction show a better built car. There are no close ups of the doors closed. Just opened. Also the angle of the interior shot does not even show the pedals and from that angle you wouldnt see anything hanging down .

Nothing to do with triangle-g, they are not involved at all! all they do is provide the kit, make no mistake, THE BUILDERS should be held accountable for their work, it is not the fault of the kit owners. |

true but to fix the tg is not hard we are almost there with all the parts we are maken
also working on the headlights too
the headlights fit 2 4 " projectors with custom covers so the tg is not a bad kit I know steve and he only made it this way so he did not get into trouble from the man robert

a kit is only as good as the builder so dont blame steve he did not put it togeather but the guy who did needs some major classes on how to fit and finish a car and get some help with wireing aswell it is not hard to twist the wires togeather and salder them and heatshrink them and lume them the dash should of been framed and bolted in and to level doors is not hard so I think he sold the one in the add and turned around and had this one made to cover the add so it was a fast build I am shure of that everything that was done by the pictures I saw were basic and major mistakes and common to a fly by build robert

That does not look to bad, the detail stuff can be worked out cheap, doors can be re-aligned, dash put back together but paint and bodywork look reasonable for a 30k lambo. Now at 40k if that is what he paid I would expect the details to be a little more solid but thats about right for the price in this market. Alot of this little stuff pops up in the kit car world when you shake down a car, it gets fixed and you go on with life. For 2-3K for someone else to do the work or 1k and your own hands you could really get that car into great cosmetic shape. Where is the car now, if its in california I would like to take a look at it. 88 Mera GTS. (Sold) ~97 Thunderranch Riot (For Sale on Ebay now.) You would have to talk to the owner about where the car is located. I guess my only real issue is the fact the the car was/is advertised as a "work of art on wheels" and thats not even close to true.

hey h, you should see if the person you bought the car from will refund about 10,000$ the car can be fixed rather cheap. from the wideshoots its not that bad. it would be easier in the long run to fix than to wait on this guy to sell the car and refund you the full amount when you could bring it to a autobody guy and get all the kinks worked out for under 8000.00 its a good looking car thats needs some tlc.

There is NO WAY i would want that car fixed. You need to see it up close! As soon as you open the door, the paint is off both sides, and someone used a HILITER to cover the spots. There is no primer on the car, and the engine is a piece of #$@#! Not to mention, all the parts look as though they came off a 20 yr old car. gaskets blown, emergency brake broken, nothing works, NOTHING! This is not cosmetic. If you take a piece of crap and fix it, you still have a fixed piece of crap. I paid almost 40k, and THAT WAS NOT THE CAR I PAID FOR! Period! If any of you would like, its yours for the price of $35,000, i'll take the rest as a loss, but maybe you should review the inside pics. The body only looks good from AFAR! It is not worth 30k not 30 cents! |

not if it was done wright if a person takes pride in there work it would show in the car yes the engine is a pos but that is just one thing it also needs a tube chassis because nothing lines up and I mean nothing so I under stand what they are saying about the car but it could be fixed and could be something they could make this badboy look like this with are bumper kit on the front it would look like this and some body mods I feel ya love you have been wronged and I understand
so if someone wants to buy it let us know we can fix it robert

not to say im on anyones side, this is what i always expected for 30k-45k thats what should be expected. i have not seen any good lambo replicas for that kind of money.they are all either not done right or mising alot , i mean alot of small details. in order to get a good lambo replica you would have to spend at least 80k-100k. just look at north american replicas. they say it will be 45k-50k . but hey its not the car shown in the website. its a model with nothing on it. you pretty much get what you pay for in parts and service. again im not trying to be on either side but this industry is base on how much you know and learn before you make it a go on your build.

h you have to understand one thing. you as well as i are new to this buisness. the odds of you getting the full amount of your money back is highly unlikely. as for the defects on the car its a 20 year old car just in new skin. like robert mentioned. your looking for a show car. tube chassis,v-8 and good body work. that will run you no less than 70-100k even if its a kit. the biggest expense on theses cars is labor. for example the photo that i sent you of my tube chassis and body. 2 pieces of a diablo that will be done right cost me 10,000$ add suspension 5000.00$ add engine,v-8 15,000.00$add wheels and tires 5000.00$ add chassis component 10,000.00$,add body work 5000.00 to 8000.00$ and the kicker since you will need someone to build it labor 30,000.00 and up. when built right its a major undertaking to build these babies. granted i know your not happy with what you have because your basing your opinion on what you would think you would get for 40k. yes its is not what you expected and its not worth what you paid, but you have the car in your possesion, and you have more than most people have that have been screwed by bad builders. for example plead you case with anyone thats delt with rks. so please take what im saying and understand that this is a kit car and your in the kit car forum with someone who has probably done this to more people than you. either take the car and sell it. or deal with the guy on a more realistic approach and you just might be able to get enough from him to fix the car (and beleive me there isnt anything on that car that cant be corrected). i know your used to driving vipers but this isnt dodge. this is a individual who threw together a piece of crap and found a good angle to shoot it and sold the car. again though you have it and i can almost garantee that 10,000$ will turn that car into a stunner and its not as expensive as taking this guy to court. you really have to switch you thinking with this sitiation and make the best of what you have.

Thanks, but NO THANKS! You cannot sit there and tell me that 40k buys THIS! Kit car guy 15, (are you ted?) if this is what goes out for that kind of money, then your right, im in the wrong place! THIS IS NOT WORTH 40 CENTS! Your right, i used to own a viper, but understand this murcielago was suppose to only be driven until spring so the builder could build my 1st choice, diablo roadster. the car of my choice would cost almost double to build. im not an idiot, this was just the car to use until my car was done. when my car was built and finished in spring, the builder would sell it for approximately 35-38k and put it towards the purchase of the new one. It kills me that you tell me to be more positive, when i don't consider myself lucky to have that at all, and tell me who wouldn't be upset at being told to spend another 10k on a car that was temporary! Please don't patronize me, i understand you get what you pay for, but i would like just one of you to tell me you would shell out that kind of money IN CASH, and be happy with what you received! |

R-Thanks for the offer, i know you can fix it, but its still not what i wanted! This was suppose to be temporary. Mark my word, I will get a refund, or will not stop until this builder is OUT OF BUSINESS! If i do not received a refund as promised, I have everything ready and will proceed FULL FORCE! I am a woman, and not to offend people on this board, but DONT UNDERESTIMATE A WOMAN! Some of can appreciate a beautiful well built automobile. Im sorry i didnt meet you first r-and I GREATLY APPRECIATE your offer. BELIEVE ME, I WOULD SELL IT IF I COULD, but i wouldn't be able to sleep nights knowing i pawned this pos off some unsuspecting victim. it would make me no better than the builder. |

Food for thought, take a look at mike vetters cars, THEY ARE 40K OR LESS FINISHED! Granted, they are v-6 fiero chassis based, but I WOULD BE IN HEAVEN, if i received one of those for a temporary drive while my tube chassis V-12 was being built. If that purple diablo listed on his web site was sent to me instead of this POS, I would not be here bugging you guys! If anyone tells people this is what to expect for around 40k, builders will give you just that, a POS |

R-contact me, need to talk to you. Good luck with your murc, i know it will not only be great looking, but a true WORK OF ART! You do take pride, i've seen it in your emails which show your work from beginning to end. im sorry people like my builder give this industry a bad name. I think some people truly believe i should feel lucky, but that kind of thinking allows the builder to get away with this, and I WILL NOT! I just want to get on with life, and need your help. email me privately as soon as possible. I know your trying to help johnnyboy, and i know you know the builder, but i will not just turn the other cheek and live with this, i'll let you know when this is over, and trust me, i will be the one left standing. BOY THIS IS FRUSTRATING!!! |

Ahhh good to be back!!There is alot of talk about getting what you paid for etc etc.. But the point is that luv didn't get what she paid for!! She paid for a car that was "finished", not needing 8-10k for repairs because somebody who wouldn't know a kit car from a lego set. Just because it cost 40k doesn't mean she should have to put up with a car that should be used for parts not driven. The bloke who "built" this car (HA!!!) should be hung, drawn, quartered, deep fried and thrown to the dogs. This guy should not be allowed to operate at all. Using approximate currency conversions 40K US is just over 50k in Australia, now if I pay 50 grand for a car I expect to be fully assembled and ready to be driven and driven fast. I wouldn't expect a huge powerful engine or racing suspension, but if it was advertised that it did and it was an automotive work of art, then thats what I expect, not the piece of junk in the photos!! The point is, it's not the fact that she paid $40 000 for the car, it's the fact that she didn't recieve the product that was advertised and she paid for. (notice the ad said "FINISHED", not requiring $8000 worth of repairs) OK Vent over Hope this helps Your mate in OZ Dave
