hello everyone, today i am faced with a somewhat pleasant dilemma.i have just purchased a strong ford 302 from a mustang dirt cheap."how cheap you ask 200.00 for the engine, harness , mounts well everthing. i was wondering if anybody else was using this engine setup. if so what are the pros and cons i will be using it to power my diablo project on a tube chassis. i know that the audi trans conversion will work, but im wondering how everything else will work. for example will i be able to utilize a fiero steering column or will i have to search high and low for some other means, and please no ford bashers. i looked on ebay you should see the amount of per mods out there dirt cheap,as apposed to lt1 parts "expensive" if anyone has done or knows anyone who has point them to this post. thanks guys |

Wow using a Ford engine in a lambo replica, thats something i have never seen before. If you need help go over www.kitcentral.com there should be somebody over there that could help you. I don't know what to tell expect good luck and keep us posted on that build. I plan on using a modified 2JZ engine for my build up. Best part is i can hide it under an engine cover. lol

pantera, was that a ford crack how dare you with a name like pantera.haha you silly dog. check it out though dollars for hp. ford 302-400.00$-600.00$. lt1 2500.00$-6000.00$. i would rather put my money into boosting the hp in my car. also the sound of the 5.0 is amazing. the only draw back i see would be the astetics of the engine bay, but im not really trying to make a lamborghini clone. i want a car thats looks good and can kick the crap out of 90% out of the cars out there. the only question i would have is if the rest of the components will work like the electrical system. light, gauges, and so on.i know alot of people are set in their ways and have a cookie cutter mentality when it comes to lambo builds, but sometimes thinking out of the box can either get you in big trouble orhelp you find a new perspective and get a lot more for your dollar. ponder that and let me know what you think. "ford rules" chevies drool haha.

If you want something that kicks the crap out of 90% of cars out there you might wanna check out either a Cobra engine(Same used in most GT-40reps)or the new FordGT create motor. The reason why I say that is the problem.....everybody has Turbo these days on there ricer and some of them arent no ordinary ricer. I want something that will beatup a Z06 on one street and drive down the next.why are repilcas so expensive?! |

to expensive for those two engines.theres a guy on the forum you mentioned thats changing the whole gear set up in the audi, and is boasting some really impressive numbers. as for the ricer i used to be one. i had a 300zx with 520hp and the only car to whip my ass was a nasty mustang 1990 5.0lx.i got to be friends with the guy and he will be building my engine. i hope to be using mitchs tranny set up with some serious hp on my pony engine. i set her up mostly for the quarter, but until now i was limited to the amount of hp i could use due to the odd gear ratio of the 5000s,but this guy is posting test numbers that are in the 200mph zone. he wrote me an email yesterday and said he is ready to do some more testing on the 302 and should have a product avalible buy next month.and the boy from kennedy have the adaptor for the set up.i should be up and running buy this time next year.
