I have a 52 MG TD replica with a 67 VW bug chassis that was dunked under 2 feet of salt water by Hurricane Ivan. I have an opportunity to buy a 73 super bug with a great engine and pan. I wonder if the chassis can be easily easily swapped or should I look for an earlier donor. I don't know anything about the differences. Any help will be appreciated!! Thanks Pensacola

The front suspension on the superbeetles is totally different and has clearance issues on a lot of kits, I would look for a earlier car to build off of because it will save you some headaches.

If its a standard beetle it will work, the pan might be slightly differnt in a few small ways from a earliar one but nothing that would stop the build or even be that big of a deal.

Don't worry I keep all the storms out here in California. Good luck with your project. I have a 67 bug under my Riot kit and a 71 under my 917 when I still owned it.
