I dont recall the car you are talking about but if your interested in F1 style cars why not build your own as long as you dont have to meet the F1 specs it should be rather cheap (as far as kitcars go) I figure you could build a nice one without power plant for $16,000 give or take a grand or so the power plant and trans is what you will really need to think about and mainly in my opinion a front wheel drive power plant from almost any of these small import types would be more than enough you figure lots of performance parts and how much power do you really need on the street the thing would weight like 1500lbs or so (220hp / 1500 = 6.8 hp per lbs thats close to most of the highend exotics out there) .
If your interested I can weld and I do custom carbon fiber and fiberglass work email me I am looking for something new to do.

hmm could be somthing to think about. I was thinking bout maybe getting a indy street car and modifying the body but idk how much that would be just for the body. Then you would have to build the intake ontop of the seat and cut to intakes on the sides, then make a groove ontop of that. Or if i went with a early 90s model F1 then i wouldn't have to do that much. the front wing, and sides, and intake. Idk i found a website the other day selling like used formula mazda, ford, russia and some other less know open wheel car i might take a wack as legalizing one as a kit.

Like I said earlier I would be more than happy to build the car for you or together. I think trying to make one of those formulas street legal may not be too difficult but at what cost by the time you buy the car mod it and make it street legal you could have built a formula type from scratch ( unless you get a great deal on one) also it is a race car they are not built for endurance they are built to race race hard and then be rebuilt. I checked into the indy streets but they are expensive like I said I or we could build a rolling chassis with body and interior for about $16,000 give or take then you need a power plant if you go with a import type then depending on where you live you could get a JDM say from a prelude or something I know the JDM prelude makes 220hp stock and you should be able to get engine trans and computer for $3500 or less.

I do custom carbon fiber and fiberglass work email me at custom_composite@yahoo.com

That could be somthing to think bout maybe a awd power plant i was thinking a evo witha TMIC so i/we could use the intake ontop of the dirver seat to put air to it. I emailed u the email to contact me at if u use yahoo messenger or msn email tell me and i'll add u and we talk more indept. Or i ran across a company selling flat 6 and v8 custom made motorcycle engines. the redline was 16,000 they said. 320hp.

Here are the use cars i was talking bout but none of them have that F1 front wing design i love.

You might get away with modifing a formula Vee for the street, but depending on the state you might run into legal issues because they simply don't weight enough. Heck my riot only weights 950 lb's and thats pushing the limits of anything you would want to drive on the street.

For the money you might as well go out and buy a T-Rex or a used Atom.
