I am doing a survey as to which cars are the most wanted cars to be made into a kit version.

If you you could choose any car to have made as a kitcar which car would it be?

Along with what car also give the type of chassis donor or custom tube and prices you would like to see the kit and the chassis sold at.

Once again I am doing a survey to see what people want and at what price they would pay.

Please feel free to choose cars that are already kits but perhaps are over priced or have other problems.

Thank You.

I think the Aston Martin would be a great replica. You could use a 1997 Jaguar XK8. I say a 1997 because it would cost you approximately $18,000 for the jaguar and put the car at a resonable price when finished (especially since very few changes would have to be made to the jag to make it look like the Aston) and you would have a strong awesome engine! It very much looks the same body wise. The front end could be changed very easily to replicate the Aston Martin as well as the back end. I really dont think it would be that difficult to convert. The coupe or the convertible either one would work great! I would love to see this happen!

a good friend of mine is building himself an italian eff-forty (maybe ill get away with that, for HIMSELF i said, not for sale)

anyway hes doing it pretty much exact, spending all his time and money on it, but its comeing along great, when done i think hes going to use a twin turbo audi V8 engine, with about 580bhp, performance should be close to original and still done all in carbon fiber...

anyway my point is, i think their are plenty of crapy replicas out there, well not even replicas just "look alikes", and i think the future of kitcars is taking old single run cars that are escalating in value and redoing them down to a T for collectors, for example, the real deal of what he is building cost around 450,000... but if u could build one exact to specs, performance looks, feel, ect. for say, 80,000 then im pretty sure theyd be baught up like hot cakes. why u ask? well its the same principle as fake rolex's, alot of people who have REAL rolex's also buy exact replicas of real ones, the real one stays at home while the fake gets to go out so there-fore mr. money-baggs doesnt have to worry about getting jacked.

dont u think if a guy can afford a 450,000 sports car he could afford a $80,000 "brother" that would be better to drive and not worry about maintenance, miles, insurance ect. and the real deal can sit at home and appreciate in value, but he still gets to go out and enjoy the car.

-i like the jag-aston (jagg-ass?) few other things id like to see...
-VW tourreg conversion into porsche cyanne (i know i just mis-spelled both the names, so sue me, its like 5am) it would be cheap, if u allready had the vw
-also a lambo LM002 SUV, possibly on a jeep cherokee, no LM002's arnt that expensive, if u can find one, but they are rare.
-lotus elise on a honda del sol/toyota mr2 MKII (elise here in the states are something like 50,000 if u can find one) plus the minimalistic lotus interior wouldnt be hard to replicate, again not the most expensive car in the world, but wouldnt cost that much to do.
-and like always your own design has just as good of a chance as any replica, look at the FFR GTM, the ATTACK, and didnt NOBLE start out as a kit car company, also another car i cant think of at the momment, sorta resembles a old lemans porsche, uses big 500hp chevy engines? well they started out as kits, and still offer it as a kit.
-also something along the lines of a Tommy Kaira ZZII (
ttp://www.importdriver.com.au/News7.htm last car at the bottom ) AWD, 6cyl TT Skyline powerplant, but in a more sporty agressive body...

anyway just my thoughts, hope it helped someone
