Does anyone know anything about a kit called the Willow? It used a 4 cyl. engine and had a very well enginenered chassis with a 91 inch wheelbase. Built in Hayward, Cal.?

Regarding the Willow Kit Car: I am the designer and original builder of the Willow Kit Car. I started Seltzer Motor Industries, Chatsworth, CA, in 1979. We only built four cars total before selling the company to Fred Schrameck, Hayward, CA, in 1983. I designed the car to use a Ford Pinto 2000 OHC engine and Ford Fiesta 4-speed transaxle. Fred converted it over to use Chrysler (Dodge, Plymouth, etc.) 4-cyl. engines and transmissions which had more power and were more pleantiful in the 1980's. Will be happy to answer any specific questions about this unique kit car (it was the first transverse mid-engined kit car available to use the increasingly popular FWD 4-cyl. water-cooled powerplants), my email address is eseltzer@kartking.com . Thank you, Eric Seltzer, Reno, NV.
