--------------------------------------------------------------------------------hi guys,i was about to buy a 97 diablo roadster from a guy called ed melik.he claims to be an attorney in the usacalifornia.he now lives in kuwait.he advertised a 97 diablo roadster as a usa spec for sale for a really good price.i got a lead and was about to wire funds to a middle man.... and make the deal.my middle man inspected the car and all was ready to go... i had a problem: i was not able to get the vin on carfax and no lambo dealers had any history on the vin ! he sent me pics of the usa door tag and compliance label.... all looked like a usa spec... but, the service book with the 1st page where the original dealer seller was "lost"....he could not tell me who sold it new in the usa but he said it was california.after 7 hours on the telephones,i learned i was about to lose big $$$.....the vin is za9de.....12726. i learned that the e is for "europe". all usa cars are "u" for usa.
how can it be? he has a e and the car has side marker lights,door tags,vin plates all for usa only??? well,i make a seach for vin tags lambo on google and fall on this website: http://www.newrule.com/badges.html this guy sell exact replica plates for a complete car ! i call him and pretend to be a friend of ed melik...i push my luck and try a crazy thing: just maybe,he bought plates there ??? what a long shot !! i still make the try and guess what... the fellow there confirms he fed ex'd the complete kit to melik last month in kuwait... melik was stupid enough to tell him : they are for my euro lambo ! he was aware that this melik guy would install the plates on a euro car..
what melik did not know is that the e is for europe and the u is for usa... he basically stamped his plates with the euro vin and got caught ! the certified checks were on my desk all day ready to be mailed !!! thank god... 7 hours on this today... divine providence asisted me and brought me to all the right people/websites.... everyone here needs to alert all lambo people of this guy and those plate... they can cause severe damage to our market../ people.....i dont know all chatlines for lambos but everyone here is responsible about getting this story out |

My name is Abdul Karim. I am the guy who tried to sell my 1997 Diablo Roadster to Steve maman from Montreal Canada. We tried to get Steve's address as he has swindled over $260,000 from two other sellers in Dubai who their ******* and Lamborghini to him but he never paid the money. He buys mostly Gulf/Euro spec cars and takes them to Canada and then to Florida and California and finally end up selling these cars fraudulently to the unsuspecting buyers as he talks big as a scam artist. He is a hard core criminal and fraud. I would appreciate if any one can get me his address so we can proceed for criminal charges against him. As far as the 1997 Diablo is concerned, I authorized my lawyer Ed Melik in Kuwait to sell this car according to the details I left with him. This vehicle was in an accident where the driver's door was damaged and later repaired by the local shop. All IDs of the car were under the door which got replaced. Original plates were badly damaged and Lamborghini factory wanted too many things and took too long. So I gave the information to Mr. Melik to contact an after-market supplier of the ID plates and he did. I had these plates installed on the car. My mechanic named Mohammed did the installing of the plates and according to the plates information made available to my lawyer, he conveyed the information to the prospective buyers. Steve tried to buy the car at a very low price. I sold it to another Miami buyer for $90,000.00 as a gulf/Euro spec. car. He said he will take care of the conversion to meet the US specs. I have over 28 exotic cars and I know Steve very well through other people. He is a scam artist and buyers be aware not to buy any cars from him. He is a total fraud and criminal. Be aware of these facts. And if you can help me get his address, I would greatly appreciate it. He has sent several addresses to the buyers but after checking out these addresses they found out that they were just PO boxes with some company called "Box etc." Watch out for this man!Abdul Karim |

so let me get this straight.
the owner of the car got in an "Accident" where a door needed to be replaced, all the VIN's for a lambo are on the door, Lambo sold you a new door with no plates so the owner had some fogeries made.the guy that thought he as buying a USA spec car got madd that it was actually a Europe spec car. SO now this buyer is a con man of some sort, apparently able to make people send them their cars without getting any money.. riiight
The owner of the car has NO idea of the address of Steve even though you were going to SHIP him the car, no phone numbers to look up even though you were doing a large financial transaction? and abdulio here says he has 28 other super exotics
If abdul owns nothing but authentic cars and can afford 28 of them, why cant he get lambo to get him a new vin plate. Why would he even know of what company to send his lawyer to for FAKE id tags? sounds like the con man is trying to make the potential victim out to be the con man. -K

Your questions and concerns are correct. I did sell the car and often I sell my cars to replace with them something else that I want. Have you ever tried to get the VIN plates or ever an ordinary speedometer from the factory? If not why don't you try it and see how long it takes and what hassels you have to go throuogh. Yes Steve Maman has conned not only two guys in Dubai but a few in Canada and the USA as well. I have sent his reports with documents to the Interpol to put his name in thier computers as he has bought and successcully sold several exotic cars that he purchased from Russian mafia from Italy, Spain, Germany etc. I am not looking for Steve Maman's address but I know two othr guys are. You will be very surprized to learn that we still do business in Saudi Arabia without knowing a lotta details that are required in the USA. I grew up and went to school in the USA and I know as much as as you know of how to do business in the States. No disrespect intended but I just spoke the truth cause there are a lotta funny people back in the States not to mention that being such a huge country it is also a very rapidly changing country with all sorts of social implicaitons. I would've dealt differently with Steve Maman because I know a lot about car's imports from the USA. My attorney Ed Melik does'nt know a thing of how to export cars to USA. Although he has the collection of his own classic cars in California that he acquired there but never imported any of his cars from Europe of the Middle East. If I was negotiating the deal with Steve Maman I certainly would have handled it a lot differently than my lawyer. Just for curiosity sake, if you have a car then just call the factory or your local dealer to obtain another VIN plate for it and see how far you will go. After you do this, then please write me back. Yes you can also buy a door from Lamborghini, ******* or even VW and if the door comes with the VIN, they don't send the VIN plate attached to such a replacement doors. Most of the car'd doors does not have VIN plate attached to it except Diablos. I don't know about other Lamborghini models except Diablo and my Marcialago. Thank you for your legitimate concerns.
