Here is the Idea...take a regular jeep, keep the regular tub but replace the front part with a one peice hummer scaled down of coarse and replace the hard top and doors with hummer top...
cheap to own...fun look... and especially cheap on gas...
so here is my question....is there a demand and if so what do you think the kit price should be ? (interior excluded)

Well im up for the cheap and fun look also the cheap on gas prices but to be realistic here it wouldnt sell that much becuse people these days will say "with the money you pay to build it you can have a real H2". The problem is the hummer H2 people want that SUV soooo bad they wouldnt look at the jeep based kit. also for 54k its pretty cheap so basicly you would have to make you kit to sell for under 20k to draw attention. Its a great idea but the problem is you have to outperform the H2 for only 20k.

I was thinking that I would make this kit...in parts for 10000$ us plus shipping...It wouldnot be exactly like the hummer but well inspired...
take off the 2 front fenders the hood and gril...all this replaced by one peice....special skins go over existing doors no need to rebuild the doors from scratch... top fits on were jeep top usually fits with windows already in.... it could be a sinch to put together...

http://www.jeep-body-parts.com/mj_jeep_body_parts.htm http://www.fibertechind.com/ There are a few Jeep Rebody kits on the market there was even a rebodied Jeep that had the hummer look sold thru Jeep dealers. Are you talking a mini version of the Hummer ? seems to me that the Humbug kit could be modified to fit the Jeep chassis

Dam only 10grand!. JP i will tell you one thing since im only 18 and im looking for the perfect daly driver you got me thinking!. I wouldnt mind having one at that price since most lamborghinis and *******s are selling well over 20grand this would be a seal. I dont like the H2 at all and was thinking of a Wombat Hummer(VW based hummer) insead of the H2. Jeeps are pretty cheap a few friends of mine was going to buy one and most of them said they are relable, cheap,. Basicly they are like Toyotas except much better.

lets get this straight the kit would sell for 10k but you would have to get a jeep and then put it on your self then paint...
I would like to make the kit so that you could either put it on a cj/yj or a tj.... I have a yj myself and think that they are quite easy to work with.... the front grill has to be chrom or polished al

10K is a steal but you will have somewhat of a competetion because of PISA has the Fiero/Hummer looking thing going on. But there kit is going to be built on a fiero and your kit will be a true offroader.
good luck and keep us posted on both of your projects and see you next year.
