I've always loved Le Mans cars. I was wondering, is there anyone who makes kits for these, on Fiero frames? I love the Jaguar XJ220C, as well as many other cars.

More pics, and some info:

There was a Jaguar XJ220 rep before but i have no idea if its still for sale. Its not a Fiero based either.

The only Lemans Fiero based car that i know of is the GT40 replica based on a Fiero. Some company in Arizona is making it and at a cheap price to.

Theres tons of lemans cars that are based on either a custom chassis or a VW bettle chassis. There was the Porsche 917 repilca known as the Laser 917.
heres the web site for more info on them
www.priceofhistoys.com

The site is out dated but its still a great place for usefull informantion on kitcars.

why are repilcas so expensive?!

I share your love of LeMans prototypes and GT1 sportscars.

There is not a lot in the way of replica kits available that I have come across. In Kitcar magazine (the US one) there is an ad in the back for a Jag XJ13 at www.sportscarfactory.com

There is a stunning Porsche 917 replica available from Australia, I can't remember the web address at the moment, but it has kraftwerks or something similar in it. (Check the links pages at www.totalkitcar.com).

Of course there is the Cobra replica's, including the coupe, but I suspect your thinking some more modern (I am).

Every once in a while there are rumours of a Mclaren F1 GTR replica, but it never seems to happen.

There is the Ultima, although that isn't a replica of anything, but it's a hot performer apparently.

Maybe the best approach as I think you are in the UK would be to start with one of the "track day" LMP like cars and do a replica body on it.

Personally I'd like to do something modern and LM like, then take it to one of the Targa events that are popping up (ie: www.targanewfoundland.com, or Targa Tasmia, or Targa New Zealand). Would need more ground clearance though....

Feel free to email me if you'd like to have an exchange of ideas.

BTW the Ultima has been in the Lemans race before and has been the only kitcar to do so.

I didn't know that about the Ultima... What year was it entered at LeMans ? Have any pictures of it in LeMans racing trim? What engine did they use....

Interesting...
