i too am in the market for a S2000, once i get some freetime to go look at some....the lowest price iv seen for one is about $14,000 with 60,000 and no damage, and others around that price that have been wrecked and rebuilt with less miles....
u can get one with around 30,000 miles for $16-$17,000 or one with more miles but allready upgraded brakes, rims, body kit, paint, ect for the same price
all these prices are on autotrader.com
ebay is normally $3-4,000 more then the cars offered on autotrader...
iv driven several s2000's and miatas, and ill tell you you will way happier handing out the extra cash for the s2000, it handles like a dream and sounds wonderful (the 2450bhp is great too), and gets way more respect then a miata, not to mention one of the great features of the s2000 is the race inspired interior... and that would cost way to much to replicate in a miata.
i think that the price will bottom out around $6,000 and stay there (but not any time soon) and the resell value shouldn tdrop too drasticly anymore seein as they just made the body changes (not very noticable) and wont make any more changes for 3-5 more years. plus its a honda, and they keep their value way better.
so my advice, go for the real thing... it might hurt at first handing over the money but once u get to drive it everyday u wont regret it.
hope this helps
