i am in the process of buying a fiberglass body on a shortended bug chassis. the body looks similar to a lotus europa but i cant find out exactly what it is. the guy that i am buying from sent some pics to an appraser who told him that its a lotus prototype. it has gullwing doors and the wv frame doesnt seem to fit it properly. the engine is crammed in there and the car doesnt sit on the chassis right without some serious modofications which makes me think that its not a VW based kit. i am trying to get some pics scanned to post. any help here would be appreciated. did anyone make europa kits??

Whats the name of the car you have? is the Aztec7 or the laser917? There used to be a lotus europa based kit but i cannot remember because it was back in the mid90s. I think it was a esprint upgrade im not so sure. but i think this site may help www.priceofhistoys.com this guy has all these VW based kits and you can fallow his story on the problems he had with VW kits. I hope it helps

found out what it is (maybe). ive searched and searched and checked pictures against my car and compared spec dimensions as found on the net and found that its either a really good replica of a 1963 lola gt with the back glass off and a custom pannel in its place or the real thing with a pannel in place of the glass. does anyone know of any lola gt kits or replicas made. i hope not cause that would make this car the real thing except someone put it on a vw chassis.
