"If you decide to import the vehicle, one potential complicating factor is that the RI who petitioned NHTSA to determine the 1990-1999 model Skyline eligible for importation requested, and was granted, confidentiality with respect to the modifications needed to conform to the vehicle to certain of the standards. As a consequence, that importer (Motorex of Gardena, CA) has claimed a proprietary interest in the modifications covered by the confidentiality grant. This does not preclude other RIs from attempting to modify the vehicle. However, should those importers not gain access to the modifications covered by the grant confidentiality, they will have to demonstrate to the agency, at the time they submit a conformity certification package for a Skyline, that they have made equivalent modifications that permit the vehicle to comply with the standards covered by the confidentiality grant.

Please note that we determined the vehicle eligible for importation based on its capability of being modified to comply with all applicable standards. We did not approve Motorex, or any other RI as the “exclusive” importer of the vehicle. As previously indicated, another RI is free to import the vehicle, but will have to demonstrate in the conformity package submitted to the agency to obtain release of the conformance bond furnished at the time of importation that the vehicle has been brought into conformity with all applicable standards, including those covered by the grant of confidentiality to Motorex."

2. Hodas CAN be fast for about 5500 dollars and know what you are doing.

b. a 99 b16a with fully forged bottom end and head work (pistons at 8 to one from arias)
c. make your own trubo kit for about 1200 or so bucks ( make sure not to use any more than a t3 turbo) use turbo edit and a 512 chip to mess with the ecu

3. for the duech bag who claims to have a skyline

a. you could have only gotten you sky from motorex they are the ONLY ones who can provide legal documents to date (although sean morris at rbmotoring is atempting to do the same for the 32s)
b. you can have with in the past 2 and a half years- because they did not put out cars for that long and they under a 500 thousand dollar law suit for such reasons.
c. if you got your skylien FOR real then you got it illigally - if so i can easlily use you ip address to report your location to the usdot and police WILL show up at the door the next day take you car crush it or auction it you will be in jail and ow a 200,000 dollar fine.

SO either admit your lie and go away or just get caught and may justiced be served to those that wish they had a sky but can't becase of the usdot being absolut morons. for gods sake the pacer is driving they have no prob there but they have a prob with the sky (friggen idiots)

3. if someone really wants to make a kit wither make a full kit for a 240 or somewthing FR. or a sc300 they have the window glass all right and the post- the bottom of the door needs to come in a little and the rear tires need to go back about a foot on the body. and new bumpers lights and hood. rims of course- then you have a skyline- BUT the car already WILL cost about 8gs. and at that point i would rather have a 327 with camle back head in my 85 gt fiero with 350hp to the wheels and spank your car- including the honda.

BUT if some one were to offer this kit for the fiero i would be HIGHLY intersted.

my 2 cents or 400 dollars which ever comes first.
