Does anyone know by personal experience if IFG Exotics is honest and has a good business reputation? Do they practice good business ethics and do they have well-made products?

I would stay away from them. Ray the owner (909 597-4110) is all about money. If a nice order for a movie set overseas happen to come in your order will be on hold and you will be lucky if you get it any time soon even though you already give them your money.

i would say the same, however, a movie are usually taking big orders, i mean if he can get one movie order start of the year he doesn't have to sell cars for the rest of the year. and plus their price is sky rocking, provided that their replica (let me rephase Kitcars) aren't look alike the real deal any way.

there are a few good ones around, of course, but i think it would be a little too far from you.

Ray's a nice guy actually. I've met him in person twice, and talked with him plenty of times over the phone. He's a bit tough to reach sometimes, doesn't always return phone calls right away, and doesn't do a very good job with project management (i.e. read doesn't always make dates), but he will take care of you. He has a dilema, way more work than he can handle and a serious lack of qualified people to hire. He gets more phone calls and e-mails in a day than most of us do in a month. So I think compassion for his dilema, patience, and persistence is the right way to work with him.

Let him know up front your serious, put delivery dates in writing, and call him weekly for a few minutes (and just a few minutes) to check-in. If you do that, all should go well.

If you're looking for an IFG turnkey, I'd recommend going with Shelby Custom Exotics (SCE) instead, http://www.shelbycustom.com
Ron Shelby has a good working relationship with Ray, and will manage all the interactions with IFG for you. And SCE's finished product is much higher quailty. Check out SCE's quality for yourself -- they built my Diablo Millenium Roadster: http://www.citilink.com/~jch/diablo

I purchased a ******* 355 replica kit from Ray at I.F.G. in 1997.
Several parts were missing, the quality of the fiberglass was so
poor that some of the body parts arrived with major cracks.

Unless you can pick it up & inspect your parts personally, stay
away from Ray.
