Hi, I know the kit manufacturer has plans, but does anyone know 1) other high mpg diesel kit cars? 2) Or does anyone know any links to someone who has built one of these? http://rqriley.com/cent.html Triumph chassis 17-hp, 3-cylinder Kubota d750 diesel engine coupled to the 5-speed transmission 35 mph, Centurion delivers at 128 mpg. At 45-mph, fuel economy is 103 mpg, and at 55 mph it drops to 85 mpg.

Sorry, I don't have any pointers for you. But I am also looking for a low fuel consumption, diesel kit-car. When you find something please report back. I will do the same. My goal is to build it very low cost. There are Diesel engines that are put into motorcycles in Europe. One of the producers is in India. I am thinking about using one of these engines in a simple steel tube frame, fabric covered vehicle. Just enough for my 11 miles commute and the hop to the local grocery store. What is it that you have in mind? Cheers Holger

FREE FUEL CAR Diesel uses recycled vegetable oil Convert any diesel car to run on FREE restaurant discarded oil for about $500-800-http://www.mv.com/ipusers/virtualmountain/Greasel/page2.html http://www.greasecar.com/kits.cfm $800 kit http://elsbett.com/engl/index.htm single tank Testimonial Q: Which kit do you recommend? A: Without reservation, the Elsbett. This kit uses only one tank, eliminating the possibility of operator error messing up your car. It is easily installed (though more invasive to the engine), and has way less potential for coolant leaks, which have proved deadly to more than one two-tank conversion that I have seen, including my own car. The technology has been around a long time, is in use in thousands of cars in Europe, and is backed by a very friendly and supportive business. While it is one of the pricier conversion kits, I have never heard of any negative results from its use, and having used it, the benefits are clear. It costs around $800 for the kit

re; " Hoot centurion: pacer meets delorean? yuk "That is just the way they built it over foam. You could put ANY body you want on it. At the time it probably looked kind of modern. But 103 mpg at 45 miles per hour? YUM! Remember, these are kit cars, be creative. You could put a Blaze like body on it if you wanted and mount the motor in the back.

I think it would be a neat idea to build one of these and power it with bio-diesel.... The body styling on the Centurion does leave a lot to be desired, but that could "probably" be easily changed. Not having seen the plans, who knows... but something more streamlined like the VW 1 litre car would be sweet..........Trevor in Calgary
