I am new to kit cars and as of today, do not have one ... BUT ... I am looking at them seriously and like you, am very interested in Lotus Seven inspired vehicles ... and from my own research ... want a Brunton Stalker for myself.

I'm an autocross type of guy ... prefering it over straight line speeed although an autocross course could be considered a dragstrip with lots of curves ? And if you look at the Brunton Stalker site ... you will notice that this machine has posted FTD's at almost every autocross venue it's been to ... amzing for both the man (Dennis himself) and machine !

Otherwise, as the prior message suggest, appears to be similar to many "7" style cars ... the motor choice is interesting ... pure American iron (Chevy V6) with an eye toward torque instead of HP which is a very different appoach to most other seven kits ... not sure if it's better or worse but it seems to work well for Dennis on Sundays ?

Last but not least ... it appears to be a very good value as well ... if you get one before I do (and complete) ... save me a drive !

You are spot on in your observations about the Dennis's FTD Stats. Achieving FTD on any course states on the record that your car was faster on that course that day that EVERYTHING else present. In the case of the Stalker this is done with an inexpensive car that is a killer (for the competition) on the Autocross track and a delight to drive on the street. If you want to have a look at several finished examples go to http://www.smm.com/gallery/ and browse around.

If I sound a bit biased it is because I own Chassis 17 and sold my FFR Cobra after driving the Stalker Prototype in an SCCA session at Fort Meyers A year ago last month. I beat a 351 powered Cobra by 2 seconds after only 3 runs in the car. Very Cool!
