Ok. My girlfriend is looking for a daily driver. I suggested the attack but everyone is pricing those over 35k. Her budget is around 20k. Any idea what she can get?? and looks coo. Some thing different? No Cobras - not her type.

356 new from vintage ~20K or so. I use mine for a daily ~1500 miles a month. Has not let me down.

Seriosly, buy her a used S2000, you can save yourself a lot of grief.

Go to Autotrader.com

There you will find the best used car site with plenty of cars at plenty of reliable dealerships. Private sellers too.

2000+ Bmw 3 series sedan, coupe or convertible = 20K
-2003 Mercedes CLK coupe or coupe convertible = 20K

S2000, great choice as well.

There are plenty of highclass brand name cars available for 20K.
Check them out.

Cheers,

BB

i assume you're asking about kitcars, so i wont mention any production cars that are within you're budget. personally, i've always liked the rowley gtc or the 355 like 360wanna_be mentioned

Why not the Evoluzione 2, by Euro-Works, Ltd? The Camaro is a really nice car, plus with the kit that they offer; your going to have a bad-ass ride. The Camaro itself would be great for an everyday car. In the summer you could have a nice muscle car. Then when winter comes, just put on some beafy tires and rais it a little and your set.
A nice Camaro, well taken-care-of would be between $3,000-6,000.
The kit from Euro-Works is $6,995 for the GTS modle
$8,995 for the GTE modle
Plus paint and materials would run you about $2,000-4,000; depending on if your painting or having done by a pro.

Hope you find what your lookin for
and I hope this helps.

Hey, is she into sport trucks? I love my Super Stepside truck. It has power everything, seating across for 3, built-in tool boxes, a killer audio system, new wheels, tires and a great bed with a hard lockable tonneau cover. I did all this for a little over $11,000. Don, the producer of the kit, even has one completed for sale at his site for $16000 (it has a 350 in it.) Just go to www.superstepside.com

yea like that guy said autotrader is a gold mine...
my Girl friend was looking for a daily driver a a while back.. for around 20k here is some of the cars we had looked at
2003 hyandai Tiburon GT
-V6
-100,000 10 year warenty
-all leather
-good gas mileage
-auto with shift tronic
2003 used and new under 20k

she ended up getting a toyota solara.. got ripped off.. but i was outa of town looking at houses, slow, creaky, turns like a boat, blind spots, looks cheap in the inside

other cars iv found on autotrader
1998+ Mercedes SLK230 hard top convertable 13,000+
1997+ C5 corvettes 15,000+
1997?+ Mercedes ML320 SUV (got bad reviews) 15,000+
1997+ porsche boxster 16,000+
even a used 1996 hummer H1 was for sale for 21,000
plenty of mustangs if thats ur thing

but yea like that other guys said a honda s2000 is a great daily driver, thats what im looking at now, great gas milage, great HP, great fun, never read a bad reivew

wish i woulda looked into my car s little better
stay AWAY FROM A DODGE STEALTH OR A MITSU 3000GT

in less then one year iv had to replace

passsenger window assembly....???
new CPU $$800+
busted out a turning light in an acccedent along with my wind sheild
$700+
got a flat tire... $90
exhaust leak... $200
and the guy i take my car too just told me he has 3 more dodge stealths on a list waiting for new transmissions
2 days later coming home from a superbowl party... my car wont get outa 2nd gear (automatic).... $1200

but yea if she can drive a 6spd...id deff go for the S2000 can pick 2000-2001's up for 15-21k on autotrader with about 30-50,000 miles but hell its a honda take care of it and it will take care of u

another cool car for 10-20k are 93+ Toyota Supras (non-turbo and some single turbos for that price) fun, fast, some having a targa sport roof, back seat, plenty of luggage room, and a toyota

the wimpy sister of the S2000... the new Mr2 spyder, can pick used ones up for less than 20,000...slow but if she doesnt care about that then go for it.

but do lots of research and dont end up buying a $4000 car for $5000 and then having $2000 of "maintnance" in a year...

thanks

i feel you bro. (MATT..)
My good friend had a 3000gt, it was horrible. Sounded like a freakin airplane inside, always had problems and it was always some huge problem, it could never have been some easy fix. He just bought an Audi A4 and is loving it. (you can get audi a4's for >20K)

Basically it has come down to whether or not this girlfriend wants a kit-car or a production-car?

Leo, i assume she is OK with a kitcar since you are posting in a kit-car forum, but i still must ask which of the 2 kinds of cars would she rather have? To better focus the helpful replies of the members.

Cheers,

BB
