I'm looking more for original kits (not replicas). I am looking for modern, exotic kits.

Best in what way?The best car itself would have to be the Ultima. Very professional operation and the car IS completely custom. Doesn't require donors etc. This is reflected in its price (look to spend 60k+). Remember Mclaren used the ultima chassis when testing the F1's drivetrain. The Ultima is just a bargain supercar. The Attack looks a really good kit, but it does use a donor (no problems with that though). Great looks and apparently handles very well too. Nice price. Much more of a sports car than the Ultima, but I've heard K1 is looking to beef up the chassis and throw in a beamer v8? Don't think there's too many custom exotics. Most are just Fcar or lambo kits. There's the Ultima, the Attack, the Futuro (something like that, by Kamala, pricey though and I think it's butt ugly), the F5 GTM200 that's due to come out late this year (very cheap- in a good way). There's also the Raffo Belva, the Minotaur (think that's the name) and a few others. Really depends what sort of price range you're looking at.

THe FFR GTM200 is a Ford GT40 replica. The panels were pulled from Dave Smith's CAV GT40. Your pal, Meat.

Actually Meat the GTM200 is based off the engine, suspension, radiator, and fuel tanks from a C5 Corvette (1997-Pres) and has nothing in common with a GT40. It doesn't even look like one. But it would be a sweet kit to build, other than the fact is GM based (CHEVY...SINKS LIKE A ROCK). Anyway, Get the kit, buy aftermarket C5 Corvette suspension components and look up Jegs or Summit Racing for a hi-po LS1 crate engine and get a Porsche transaxle ($5000) and enjoy. It will probably run you about $40,000 not including paint, interior, etc.

Well they do say it could be completed for 45k...It's heavily influenced by a race car that looks like a modern bodied GT40. It isn't actually a GT40 replica. It does look a bit weird from some angles (thanks to the side quarter windows). Looks great from others though (like the front).
