Just forget it, it's not worth it.. Some time ago I saw an add om www.mobile.de for a used Lamborghini Diablo 5.7L Engine with Tranny. They wanted EUR 32.000 !!! (approx 35.000$) Not to mention that these engines need a complete rebuild at around 40.000 miles which would make you another 25.000$ lighter (at least!). Buy a BMW 5.0L Engine for a grand, an audi 5000 tranny for a few hundred and voila, here you go, your own mid-engine configuration !

I dont know hwo well a Diablo engine would do in a kit car based on a Fiero, but if you are using a tube chasis and a strong tranny you should be OK. Diablo engines may be hard to locate, and if you indeed do find a used one for sale it wont be cheap. I dont want to discourage you from trying to make your car the best it can be, but the Diablo engine -like the Diablo- is a rare bird. Diablos were produced in less than 500 per year, and the survival rate for these cars is high, meaning scrap engines with no damage may be rarer still. f you find it too dificult you could always find a BMW 12-cylinder and fabricate some covers for the cams and dress it up like a Lamborghini engine. The BMW pwerplant will fit into most tube chasis without too much shoehorning, and they get good gas mileage, (no turbos here) make plenty of power, and have a nice sound. If you want to go the whole way with the BMW V12 there are several Diablo stlye exhausts out there that get you more power, sound and style. It wont be cheap, but it is possible. JTX

Thanks for replying guys. I e-mail Lambostuff and ask for the price on the engine. They said the engine alone will cost over $50k.
