Ok: Can I just Buy the Lambo Style doors mechanism to convert the stock doors on a stock Fiero to opend like a Lamboas. After viewing the Kitcars I decided just to modify a Fiero with a GM 350 and a kick-ass paint and leave it stock looking with the Lambo style doors. So were can I buy the hinges that is if they are available. Thanks for your help |

Hi Edge - Net,Yes there is someone in the local GTA area who does these door conversions. He had a display at ImportFest in Toronto and his shop is located in Brampton, Ontario. I think he charges about $ 4000 can.
to do the convsersion...

Thanks for the info f355, I do have a line on an already modified Fiero with a 350 installed at this point the car looks ok, but I thought a kick-ass paint job with a few mods will be the best way for me to go and if I change my mind down the road I can always thing abougt a re-body

There are plenty of pictures of Lamborghinis and their door on the net. Look at them, look at a Fiero, then come to your own conclusion if it can be done or not.Rick Lord

There are many kits out there now to convert ANY car to lambo doors. I have even seen them on trucks. Decah.net and autolock are 2 maufacturers you can look at.

There are NO kits out there to 'convert ANY car to lambo doors.' It is an engineering impossiblity to make a door open UP like a Lamborghini does. There are kits out there that have been adapted from a kit oroginally designed for a Honda to make doors open out and up - which isn't at all like Lamborghini doors open. the only car that i've seen that you can get a true lambo style door is on the late model 300zx, the door is made so that when the back of the door lifts up it doesn't have to come out to clear the inner door opening and also the way the top of the door is designed will allow for this also, the t-top roof ones won't work unless you cut the rubber off and water will leak in. there is no way to do this to the fiero doors without making them come out before going up.www.exoticglass1.com |

you can't believe everything you read. what meat is saying is that its impossible to get these cars to open like the lamborghini does, its possible to use a two or three stage hinge but its not the same as the lamborghini other than when its open its up in the air. on most cars the door will hit the door opening as it goes up, this is why it has to be a stage hinge so the door comes out before going up. if you look at the majority of cars out there you'll notice that the end of the door is square, in the case of the 300zx its angled like the diablo. the other problem is the way the top part of the door opens and seals. another problem with the two stage hinge is that they are extremely flimsy, when open they feel like they'll fall off and when closed you get air noise because its not sealing tight.www.exoticglass1.com |

Once again you have not done your homework. You told everybody that autoloc does not make these hinges. Did you bother to look?
