I am trying to get things done on a budget (not cut any corners).
Buying directtly off of Renegade for instance will cost me around $5,000 as you probally know, but only $2,000 of that is for the rebuild.

Anyway a rebuild kit is only $300 from Motor Miester.
When I told Motor Miester I was building a 400hp small block for the 915 they told me it would break! Now I havn't been doing this for long but I have talked to alot of people and never heard that before.

Does anyone have any advice?

It's not the HP that will detonate your transaxle, it's the torque. You might want to check with Ron Simpson Hybrids (www.porchev.com), they had a 914 that was running a 350hp Chevy 350 through a STOCK 915.
