We have all seen pictures of the Mecedes SLR replica built in Poland that have been circulating the internet for a few months now. The car has even appeared on a European TV car programme. But it seems this vehicle is a one-off and will never be sold in kit form.
But now, a German tuning company has gone one step further. LOTEC, who are very well known for their exotic 1000 horsepower supercars are offering an SLR facelift conversion kit that turns the current Mercedes SL model into a McLaren SLR style lookalike. The pieces are made of carbon fibre and seem easy to fit. Optional extras are 20 inch alloy wheels and engine tuning for more than 600 horsepower. Just add vertical opening doors and you can have the ultimate replica long before the real car is out on the street.
