I was wondering if anyone made a turbocharter for a Chevy 350? Or if any one sells the Northstar VX12 and if there is a transmission that bolts up to that. If there is a no answer to those questions, is there an engine that makes 500+ hp that would fit in the Fiero engine bay? I am looking to build a Lamborghini and i don't want to be all show and no go. Plus would the Fiero body be able to handle 400+ hp or would structural modifications be needed. Thanks. |

You should probably check out www.V8archie.com" target="_blank">http://www.V8archie.com. There are numerous turbochargers and supercharges available for the Chevy 350 (just about any performance part you could want for the SB Chevy or Ford exists, BTW). You're bigger issue is going to be the Chassis and Transmission. Other than going with a Held Motorsports custom tubular cradle, you'll probably be forced to use a Fiero trans, and there were a couple different ones used throughout the 4 years of production. Archie knows how much power those cars can handle. Incidentally, you may also want to check out www.fieroforum.com" target="_blank">http://www.fieroforum.com.Also check out http://www.heldmotorsports.com. If you are truly looking to run up with a real Lambo, you shouldn't just focus on engines. These are GT cars, not dragsters. Held has a excellent selection of brake and suspension kits for the Fiero. Good luck.

I don't want to step on anyone's toes here because I'm new, but perhaps I can offer my POV through the posts I've read eleswhere. You shouldn't stick to the transverse Fiero tranny. The Getrag 282 and 284 max out at 200-250 HP, respectively. Your best options are longitudionaly mounted transmissions such as the Porche model 915 and 930 or the Audi 5000s. They all should support at least 500HP (930 turbo/racing version does 725). Of course, you will need adaptors and flywheels for these. You will need a cradle for any engine upgrade you get, if not other chassis mods. A Fiero was built to handle a certain amount of HP.. and I doubt it was 400+. Just like Andrew said, most ppl go with a Chevy SBC because of the number of add-ons available and the cheap prices. Check www.allchevyengines.com for prices. You can get a 383 in the low 400HP range (carburated) for about $3500. I hope this helps, Filip

Hi im new here. I always heard your stock tranny is fine as long as you dont abuse it. If hitting water at 80 mph feels like concrete,What does concrete feel like?
