I have decided to purchase my turnkey within the next two weeks. As of right now my intentions are to buy from North AMerican Exotics.

Can anyone vouch for their reputation?

As I have stated in the past. I am looking for a replics that is nearly flawless in comparison to a real diablo.

It also must have excellent performance.

Anyone with a serious candidate, I encourage you to contact me.

Thanks for your time.

Ben,

Very good looking replica, although I'm not sure how well it will hold up when actually driven on the road.....

Please elaborate on "hold while actualy driven"?

What should I be looking for?

Dale seems to drive his car around quite a bit since it was finished. I have not seen it in person but from what I can tell it seems to be a top quality build. I did have the pleasure of meeting Dale at the Knotts show. He is a really nice guy.

This is getting ridiculous.. I may have to just get a real Diablo and drop a cheaper to maintain engine in it. EVERYONE I have spoken to claims to have the "most accurate" car. Everyone also claims the others are liars and crooks.

Does anyone have their **** together and want to do business?

== Ben ==
You sound very frustrated which is understandable. In business, naturally everyone is going to promote their product or brand over the competetitions. But labeling the competition as crooks and liars should wave a yellow flag b/c it's unethical and lacks integrity, class, and professionalism. I'm curious as to know which Kit Comp's you've contacted and are disattisfied with their service thus far.
Email me @ JonB112@Hotmail.com
Title the email "KIT CAR COMPANIES"

== ACCURACY COMPARISON ==
I have been comparing Athentic Diablos and Replicas for about 2 years now. I've been researching design alone b/c I wanted the most accurate reproduction made available when I could afford it. I'm not an expert in automotive design but I think the most accurate EXTERIOR reproduction right now is going to be found with D&R. I like the minor frame alterations they've made b/c it actually gives the car a sportier look then an authentic. I can't speak for their interior packages b/c I haven't seen any interior photos. But in all fairness, if you spend a litle the extra money with any kit company production, you can gaurantee a very authentic look.....

IFG could make some minor EXTERIOR alterations and their product would be MORE favorable then D&R's. Plus IFG is priced more economically by a couple grand. Maybe among your search/decision process, you can get these companies to competitively price match with each other which could help you reach a faster decison if one company won't budge. It seems to be IFG's service which gets a lot of comlaints, not the accuracy of their design quality.

NAERC makes an authentic looking Roadster, their interior is virtually flawless. But their EXTERIOR design doesn't grab me as much as D&R's does. D&R has a more strealine look in the front which I find more appealing then even an authentic Diablo. SHELBY and IFG have made similar alterations as well.

If it's Diablo 6.0's you're looking for, "NAERC IS THE PACE TO BE". I thought IFG had the nicest 6.0's until someone on this site pointed me toward an NAERC 6.0 Kit. I was impressed to say the least. Just remember that the quality of the builder is just as important as the design accuracy. Experienced builders can correct design problems in the production process. I've seen nice quality kits get ruined by builder inexperience. It can hurt the brand image of a company. It would suck to have produced a cheap generic looking kit of an exotic and everywhere you went, people could immediately tell. It ALMOST defeats the purpose of owning one.

Email me b/c I definitely want to speak with you...

GEORGE

Ben,

By "holding up" I was referring to the cars ability to be driven regularly, safely, and legally on public roads.

Like yourself, I was also very interested in getting a top quality Diablo replica....

I haven't been impressed with anything I have so far discovered...

Please email me at jeglin2249@aol.com and I can give some specifics.

Jim

Ben,
I have been reading the posts on this topic and I thought I would add my 2 cents. I am currently building my dream car(Roadster)and I put a lot of time (5 months)in researching kits, chasis, interior, exterior, glass, build specs, companies, etc. I firmly believe that IFG and D & R are the best on the market. IFG needs to make some changes to theirs to make it the best. I think that at this point in time the D&R is the best available, so that is what I purchased. I also believe to get the more authentic look you must use the tube chasis. I went to 3 locations building replicas to get ideas on how I wanted to build mine and to see if I was prepared to jump into this or not. You most certainly want to go see the car before you buy it, ie stay away from ebay to get it. If someone is selling there they will deal with you and give you the best price if you contact them. I know because I have sold several cars there and none were ever on bids. It is more of a forum to get your car looked at, if they want to buy it they will come to you or meet you to make the sell.

With that said, I have met a lot of people in this business and there are some who I would probably not deal with and there are many that will go above and beyond your expectations to satisfy you. My case and point would be roger at rks design. I did not purchase my kit from roger but I call him to help on things when I am stumped because he seems to know the best way to do things. This is probably because he has been building these cars for 10 years. His website is rksdesign.net and he has reasonable prices and he can custom make any car exterior or interior to look like the original. He builds his own chasis and uses the D&R body kit. He will let you come to his building at anytime to look at your car or cars that he is building. I was very impressed with him and his facility. He is truly genuine. There are others out there as well but for every Roger you meet, you will meet 5 that are not so honest and willing to make you happy.

Anyway, check out his site because I think you will find what you are looking for. Go out to see him in North Carolina, I am sure he would love to visit with you.

Sounds more like a sales pitch than a recommendation....LOL... Just Kidding man.
RKS is located in Anderson, SC..... Do they have shop in NC also?
I would love to drop by and see his work.

What will close the sale for me with RKS is to see cars that ROGER himself has actually built. Not pictures of other D&R cars from other builders. I want to see his personal detailed work on several cars, not just 1 or 2. I want to see consistent quality. I want to hear testimonies from several customers, not just 1 or 2. B/c no single kit manufacturer can operate w/out it's share of problems. Unexpected problems arise, and I want someone to be honest and straight forward with me about them. Not try to hide them.

I'm not saying anything negative about Roger or RKS, I'm sure he is a great resource for your ROADSTER build. But before I do business with anyone, I want to see an extensive history of good reports, satisfied customers, and quality work. And I haven't seen that demonstrated on his website yet. I guess I'm in a new search process of surveying several D&R Builders right now to see where my business will be going. As of now, RKS IS THE FRONT RUNNER.

What's your email address(mine is previously posted above), I have some specific build questions I would like to discuss.

Dale Van Blokland has been VERY honest with me. I am leaning towards having him build my car. In the meantime I got bored and just bought a real Testarossa. Its fun and pretty.

I had a good laugh reading an ad recently.
"Great running and sounding V6"
LOL! A V6 is for kids and is a dead giveaway of a kit.

Ben, the only kit I can vouch for is the NAERC kit, after seeing the professional quality and authenticity of the kit at Carlisle it would be my choice for a Diablo.

Problem with NAREC is the price. I would rather go with IFG if you wanna save money.

i dont want to say anything bad about rks , but when i saw the car they built , i was very disappionted. because of the way they cut corners on that car . to me its no contest compare to the narec one by north american. that was really nice. to me the rks is very much a imcomplete kit . the one at carlise was missing alot of things such as engine accesorries , interior, back grills ,etc. thats what it look like to me.
